Would a Villain Origin Film Work for the James Bond Franchise?

If the headline looks familiar it may be because it's taken from an article on JBR - this one:

I think it's an interesting question and article, so I thought we could talk about it here.
Personally I think the Bond films should use themes, moods, details etc. from past films, but not re-use major portions of them.
Instead of making villan origin movies inbetween real Bond movies EON should focus on making Bond movies more often, and make them well.

    I'd prefer more Bond films than villain origin films too. But some villain origin films could be interesting, like Scaramanga. Not most others.

    Yes. The only way I can see villan origin stories to be a good idea is if EON outsource someone to make animated films for TV. Another firm makes them (a bit like the best animated Batman films), but make sure they get to OK the scripts and final cut.
