Mission:Impossible Dead Reckoning Part I -thread (shooting, wardrobe, etc.)

Since there were quite a few of us who took great interest in discussing the last installment, this thread is for covering all things M:I-7 that is shooting right now.
(Hope, the mods don‘t mind this here, but I figured since the last thread is also in this section...) -{

So, due to Corona, production has moved from Rome to Surrey, where Tom Cruise was handling a couple of different vehicles:

Regarding the last photo: any clue on what jacket that is?

Bear in mind they aren't filming there so anything he's wearing won't appear in the movie.

Where in Surrey are they filming ?

It's Dunsfold aerodome near Godalming; where they shot the Miami airport sequence for Casino Royale in fact.

I am sorry for hi-jacking this thread. I just didn't think i should start a new one for this.

I recently watched Tom Cruise's Knight and Day again. In the title sequence he wears a beige Harrington i like.

    White-Harrington-04.jpg

Initially i thought this was a Baracuta G9 or G4 'Mist' but i am not so sure anymore. There is no Umbrella-effect yoke at the back and some details seems to be different.

    White-Harrington-06.jpg

    White-Harrington-02.jpg

    White-Harrington-08.jpg

Initially i was waiting from Daniel Love to produce a replica of DC's Harrington:
    Daniel-Craig-Mist-Harrington.jpg

But it seems it is on hold for now so Tom Cruise's one might be a nice alternative. So, any idea who might have produced this one?

It actually is a Baracuta but not a G9 instead it's a custom G10 made for Tom Cruise!

Not one i can decipher. Maybe if a find a better video source it would be more clear to read.

    Great find!

That's the Baracuta logo. Looks like you were correct.

It didn't make much of an impression when it was first released but I've always really enjoyed Knight and Day. One of those guilty pleasure movies I can just throw on anytime when I want something fun to watch.

Wasn’t „Knight and Day“ supposed to be Tom Cruise‘s big screen comeback? He did MI-3 in 2006 then only „Valkyrie“ (as main cast) in 2008 which tanked?

Okay, at the risk of being “that guy” (as if I should be concerned since whistleblowers here seem to abound), isn’t this thread more suited to Off-Topic Chat discussion?
    I edit, therefore I am.

Kinda, maybe. However, the Mission Impossible film's are espionage related and have shown up in this forum along with The Man From UNCLE. I think of the MI films as Bond adjacent.

Thank you for the valuable information guys!

Too bad Baracuta is not making a version like this one to sell. My hope is back to Daniel Love now. Damn corona virus!! :))

I started this discussion by acknowledging that i am temporarily hi-jacking this thread. I don't think this thread is more suited to the off topic discussion. It is very relevant to the sartorial aspect of James Bond. People might not realize it but Tom cruise is more sartorially aware than he is given credit for and the Mission Impossible franchise shares more with the James Bond franchise than people are willing to admit.

I placed this thread here for a couple of reasons actually.

The first being that a thread like this simply wouldn’t get the attention in the off-topic section and eventually get lost before it even started. The equivalent „MI-6“ thread is also here and it showed that there are quite a few people like me that are very interested in the franchise.
Other than that, I can only second what Agent Eternal has already said.

Lastly, like I said „I hope the mods don‘t mind“ and they seem to do not. ;)

I don't understand : if you want the same jacket as TC in "Knight & day", just buy a Baracuta G9 in "mist" color and have the lining remade with a silk one, no ?
Except that the jacket is the same model it seems to me !!!

All Baracuta Harringtons have this Umbrella-effect yoke at the back which is not to my liking.

    umbrella-g9.jpg

I guess it is one of the things they altered besides the lining.

Yesss....I'm sure a good tailor could erase that umbrella portion (which has a purpose by the way...) without any difficulty !!!

    A bit of cheeky self-service:

Does anybody have this JV jacket from „Rogue Nation“ in M or L for sale? Or any other Ethan Hunt-jacket?

I hope we get some more from this film. Fallout had so many great ones and I missed out on the Boss Lemy jacket. Don't want that to happen again!

If you can believe it, I saw a few of them (or a nearly identical JV jacket) at Nordstrom Rack. I had no idea what it was at the time or I would have picked a couple of them up!

However, that's not as bad as when I picked up my "enjoying death" shirt on clearance from Zara for $20. This is before they were identified and they had 8 or 10 of them in all sizes. The profit I could have turned on the resale market when the film was released...

That particular jacket was a special release by Baracuta called the G-10. It is basically a G9 with a much slimmer fit, shoulder seams instead of a raglan shoulder style, and no back yoke. There was a special limited release around the time the film came out. I owned one myself, but have since sold it as it wasn't really my style back then. I'm kicking myself now. :(

Οh, i can imagine the feeling. :s

It seems like Baracuta has since given the G10 name to a longer raincoat-like G9.
