We should defiantely watch a WWII movie soon. The Battle of Britain is great movie, but I think we should focus on movies about spying and special operations.
Every member of the origional saboteurs who commented on it hated it and I don't have the DVD (might find it in the library though), but why not? It will be splendid oportunity to comment on inacuracies
I think The Guns of Navarone and Where Eagles Dare will draw the most members.
I really don't mind what we watch. If I'm not busy and as long as I don't hate the film, I'll happily watch any of those suggested, from Mission Impossible to Austin Powers via Flint, Helm and Palmer.

Are you claiming that Hollywood has lied to us ! ......... Again !!
No, Hollywood is always 100% honest, but "Where Eagles Dare" is .......... shal we say ....... made in a different style than "Saving Private Ryan". :v
Mission Impossible is where I'd go: a really rather excellent film series and only getting better at the moment.
Amazing to think it's as old as the Bond series was at the time of Living Daylights!
As said, we had a very slow response in the last weeks and I want to build up a bit of tension and demand for the next viewing if that makes sense.
Even when I have announced the next movie very early, the participations where very low, so that should not be the issue.
Imo we must just accept that our common ground is Bond - when we go away from it, participation will drop and many of us won't have the corresponding media (DVD/Blu Ray). I just keep on doing this because I know how much Barbel enjoys them (seriously).

I don't think we should quit teh watchalongs completely, but 2-3 weeks between each time seems sensible. I would hate it if the watchalongs stop just as I'm able to take part again.
I have enjoyed the few group watchalongs that I've attended. I joined AJB after they first started and I don't have all the Bond films so unfortunately couldn't join them all. They are showing 2 a week on tv here which I am enjoying and afterwards I read the relevant discussion on here from the group watch. And others who may join AJB later may do the same.
Regarding keeping this going now after Bond, I think it would be a shame to stop it as the people who take part do enjoy it. I know it has been a bit disappointing for you Higgins as you would have liked more people. But I would say not to look so much at the numbers but focus on the fact that you are providing a good time, fun for some, which has been appreciated. Quality over quantity if you like.
I really wanted to join To Catch A Thief but didn't have it. It somehow got deleted off my sky box. I was only able to join The Ipcress File because I found it on youtube. I'm not into Austin Powers so haven't joined those. The MI films have been suggested. Can I also suggest that we add a couple of Hitchcock films? North by Northwest or The 39 Steps?
If AJB stops having these watchalongs just as I'm able to join you again it will be really frustrating to me. A watchalong this Friday seems unlikely since nothing has been decided yet and I probably need some days to get the right DVD.

Where Eagles Dare has almost nothing in common with real war

(Btw, count me out for MI if those films turn up.)
