The crashing cars and comedy cop in a nocturnal urban chase scene... makes me nostalgic for DAF!
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Watch out for the cylinder torch hanging on the inside of the shack door yellow and red panels.

Bond's raciest lines often seem to be down to Roger's ad libs.

But yes... his American accent is lame...

I think the comment came after Tanya Roberts insisted on a costume that fitted her perfectly. Roger was getting impatient ans Roberts didn't like hsi ad lib.

Peter Lamont manages to evoke the effect of a Ken Adam set but the twist is it's rooted in a kind of reality (a working mine) rather than being an expressionist high tech fantasy set

You think the poor fisherman in his boat is what inspired Q to later develop his own “Fishing boat?”

Roger Moore on Grace Jones (and I’m paraphrasing, don’t have time to look up the exact quote)-
I was always taught that if you can’t say anything nice about someone, say nothing. So I’m saying nothing.

I remember thinking when this was first out that Zorin here was like a Michael Heseltine figure... this was at about the time that the Thatcher government ruthlessly took on the miners in the UK...

Indeed. Unfortunately, I can't think of a situation where James Bond would watch NHS workers being exploited to parallel what the Tories are currently doing.
