Every time Q is onscreen- and he gets a lot more screentime than usual.

Q's usual routine is considerably more effective here (than usual) because it offers a real contrast to the serious mood of the film as a whole.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

The scene were Bond tries to assassinate Sanchez is great and I've never minded the "ninjas". Moving the Barrelhead to Thailand would've made the Asian conection clearer, but I've never seen the problem.

the 'I hope you don't snore, Q' line is pretty great. Dalton's delivery is spot on as well.

Moore would have done that line better! 100%

The way we're listening to Sanchez's and Truman-Lodge's presentations while watching Bond set up the plastic explosives is well done.

The President's dad had a much better part in a much better film.

Q is himself going 'unofficial' in this film...perhaps risking his career to help Bond, as the younger version does in SP.

    And now the HK agents.
Totally unnecessary, they don‘t add anything to the story!

Fallon is played by Christopher Neame, who played in Hammer Horror movies much earlier.

No, the HK plotline works very well.

Question: has police ever used suicide pills?

It convinces Sanchez of Bond's loyalties

Ah, I disagree. This scene shows that go-it-alone Bond is fouling up operations he wasn't even aware of it. It adds a sense of what's at stake. Loti's violent death is quite upsetting. And it's great to see Christopher Neame in a cameo.

"Things were about to turn nasty"- Dalton's accent!

"Things were about to turn nass-ty" A classic Dalton reading. :D

He had scenes alongside Caroline Munro in 'Dracula AD 1972'. In which Christopher Lee's Dracula hairstyle was definitely cool :))

:)) :)) :)) Pretty much like his Scaramanga hairstyle

Chris Lee is supposed to have a Dracula hairstyle. James Bond isn't! :))

This whole part of the movie where Bond uses his position opportunistically to set up Krest is good.

"You're not going to believe who this guy is..."

Yeah, and I'm Dick Tracy :-)

This is where the "Yojimbo" influence is most clear.

Yes, the book rather than the film of course.
