The bedroom scene gives us an idea of what a genuine relationship might have looked like taking Bond away from his career. The fact that Vesper is betraying him all along means that actually he's not ever really going to be able to pull away from his 007 destiny... and we'll still get our Bond films!
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.
Purely in action terms this doesn't rate among the best Bond film climaxes... it's Vesper's tragedy overwriting it all, and the effect of this on Bond, that makes it memorable.

Around the time that this film came out I was working for a builder, and had a certain fascination for the nail gun. Alas, my employer's one didn't work in quite the same dramatic fashion as the one in this film.

Eva Green does an amazing job acting Vesper drowning... a haunting, almost gothic image. Its replay in the SP credits sequence is my favourite part of SP!

"The bitch is dead now" suits Fleming's Bond as the chilling final line in the novel. In the movie, it doesn't quite sound right with Craig, and M qualifies it with her response/diffuses its effect.

I was unsure about that at the cinema... but I’m glad they did it. (I’ll clarify why in a min)
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

It confused me very much when Severine wore the a similar one in SF
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!

I disagree. And not even respectfully
Another brilliant cue in my book.
Likewise. I think it’s a perfect length as is.

Thunderbird Too. This is a sequence that couldn’t be rushed.
Not considering the effect this will have on Bond, as we all know.
Loved that, thanks everyone!
Yesss!
More likely there was a lot of natural gas.
Fantastic finish!
