David Arnold and conductor Nic Dodds were surprised and delighted to find that the lead trumpeter Derek Watkins had played the same role in all the prior Eon Bond films. He got a special credit on the album sleeve. Watkins died in 2013, his last Bond film being SF.

The first few minutes really let the viewer know what sort of Bond Craig’s is going to be. We’ve got brutal fist fights, cold killing and some great lines l.
Back in 2006 as I was waiting for Casino Royale to start I was standing in a long line outside a cinema in Bedford guzzling a large Coke. Unfortunately within 10 minutes of the film starting my bladder was screaming at me. Somehow I managed to last throughout the entire film without leaving the cinema to go for a pee.

Mads Michelson is wonderful as LeChiffre. Subtle and understated in his behaviour, because his appearance carries his menace, like Dr No and Oddjob.
