Moore is not bad at all. Lee is wonderful.

The sniping exchanges over lunch are surely one of the best scripted and best played Bond/villain conversations.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

We really see how tall Le eis in the duel scene. I'm Moore's height and a friend of mine is is about 210 cm and standing next to him fels strange for me.

The same. I'm Moore's height and my brother-in-law is Richard Kiel's height. I had to ask him to sit down so I could talk to him comfortably.

I‘d pay good money if I could see the entire uncut dueling scene!

As we all know, some of that was in the trailer.

When I haven't seen Einar for a while it feels very strange having someone's shoulders at eye height. :))

Bond's point that he doubts Scaramanga qualifies as a gentleman. That makes sense because of Scaramanga's victimisation of Andrea... but also because (as it turns out) Scaramanga sort of cheats at duelling. He doesn't play by the rules and has an advantage over the guests against whom he duels because he better knows the geography of his own island and Fun House.

True! :)) :)) :)) When you're 6' or over, it's uncomfortable to talk to someone taller.

My one real issue with the duel: Scaramanga essentially just hides in the 'ending room' and waits for Bond. It should have been a mutual hunt.

I think there was a scene where Bond uses a Molotov coctail and Scaramanga shoots it. they should have kept the scene.

A dramatic mistake of the film is that it returns to its own PTS for the climactic showdown. We should be at an altogether other level by now. Though the Fun House undeniably makes a great lair for Lee.

Actually, I DIDN'T know this! Very interesting. What did the uncut version of the duel contain?

Scaramanga has another bullet hidden in his belt buckle. And as N24 says, he makes a Molotov cocktail.

Bond retrieving the solex has great tense music.

Bond's ruse, posing as his own mannequin, is quite effective on first viewing. (Familiarity breeds contempt after countless viewings.)

Scaramanga needs lots of sun and a not particularely powerful state, so Thailand should work for him.

So, how did Scaramanga have all of this built out in the middle of a nowhere island in Thailand? The logistics of the construction effort defy reality.

    I know, I know...because movie.

Music “Slow Boat from China / Nick Nack” The original hasn’t been released, but a cover by Nic Raine was released in 2000 (and later on assorted compilations)

The stuff with the cloud passing over the sun, with Bond in danger of being lasered, is very like a Gerry Anderson scene... it must be the Derek Meddings associations again.

Nick Nack uses his size to his advantage here. Reminds me of the fight with the villan in the Jack Reacher novel "61 hours".

If I remember correctly, there is another trailer part of the Blu Ray, where you can see a bit more of the duel
