This sequence is more about fast driving than action.

The deserted streets do lend the atmosphere a certain quality... similar with how London is seen at night later on.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Dave Baustita is amazing he is buily like Harold Sakata, has the agility of the best stuntmen and he looks good. Its a damnes shame he gets no payoff.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Hannes Oberhauser was a (deceased) character in Fleming's OP.

For the first time, the films confirm that Tanner's first name is Bill as in Fleming.

The conference name cards call back to the UN conference at the beginning of LALD (Mendes' first Bond film as a young viewer, apparently).

Craig spots the cameras and does... nothing?

Good to see Jesper Christensen back... but the character of Mr White is softened since his first two Bond films where, frankly, the characterisation was much more convincingly written.

The actor's performance is fine but I don't buy his sudden development of a conscience.

Nice to someone in the industry got more fucked up by the voodoo stuff than Me. Pity his directing is tripe!

Mr White's questioning of "the word of an assassin" and his daughter's later description of Bond as "a paid assassin" echo Octopussy's dialogue when challenging Bond.

Every time I watch the Hoffler clinic scene I think "it should have been Synnøve Macody Lund in Loen". I also think the same when I'm in Loen.

Nice to see Dame Judi again. Since they used her image in different other parts of the film, it was as well to offer her the short cameo, I suppose.

I only just realised this film took her to the full 20 years of playing M, so beating Bernard Lee's run.

I always thought he left it on purpose so that whoever found it would follow him and he'd learn more, keeping the trail going so to speak. Either that or he's learnt nothing from his embassy stunt in CR.

Madeleine is very good here. Craig's responses to her questions are well done.

C is great here and I like the actor, but I always kinda felt that this role called for an older actor. I find it unlikely that someone so young would necessarily have that level of responsibility.

I think he's about the right age for an unscrupulous high-achieving climber of the careerist greasy pole.
