Beckton Gasworks, over which the helicopter scene takes place, was famously also used in Full Metal Jacket (doubling as Vietnam) and somewhat less famously in my childhood favourite, Biggles (doubling as the WW1 western front).
And now it's all about Maurice Binder's besotted fascination with Sheena Easton. Her inclusion in the sequence makes this one of his best later sequences.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Good idea to get Sheena Easton on screen too.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?
The St. Georges scene, with its nautical flavour and old fashioned WWII mine give me something of the flavour of an Alistair Maclean thriller. I really like it.
The sinking of the St George is the most harrowing of the series' doomed crew sequences. Edgier in its realism even than the fate of The Devonshire crew in TND.
