Fleming would have approved of long stretches of this film.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

The old school naval chart on the wall of Columbo's yacht, and the raid on Kristatos' warehouse give me more of that wonderful old fashioned adventure yarn feeling which I simply love!

The scene on the beach is superb in all respects and to my mind shows Roger as one of the finest Bond actors. In some ways this is a scene that Craig's Bond might have been in... and not done anything like as well, in terms of performance. Moore performs both rage and human empathy. Craig would have left out the last part.

One of Moore's greatest scenes as Bond

Agreed and now imagine how Dalton would have screwed it up by shedding some tears over Lisls death

    True that :s

Paul Angelis, who plays one of Topol's men, Karageorge, was (like George Sweeney) a familiar face from 'The Sweeney'. (He played the Secret Serviceman confronted by Regan at the climax of the film 'Sweeney!')

One of Moore's best scenes, the killing of Locque- and he didn't want to do it!

The shrill synth for the Bond theme in 'Submarine' isn't good, even though the piece as a whole is a nice composition.
