Only 20th?
I know. It's not really good enough, is it?
Well, you've had CR06 for the last 14 years while I've had this for the last 53.
The film's disregard for plot actually takes to a post-modern zenith the aesthetic of the 'spectacular' Bond films which prioritise over story the locations, costumes, music and spectacle.
The wonderfully designed HQ interiors here push forward in anticipation of the 'big set' Bond movies to follow...
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.
Daliah Lavi's exchanges with Woody Allen are funny. Woody Allen wrote his own material for this film but refused to help with the writing for scenes he wasn't in.

Allen's parody of the Bond villain and his psychosexual inadequacies is good, and arguably would apply even more to Pleasance's Blofeld figure (in two months' time) than to any of Pleasance's Bond villain predecessors. Of course, the 67 Blofeld is also the source of the later 'Dr Evil'.
