    I haven't seen this before, and was wondering about Palmyra last time I watched the film. A beautiful real life location.

    Its definitely been left in disrepair for some years, but at least it hasn't been knocked down and replaced by condos (yet).
    Who owns it? Do they have plans? They seem to have guard-dogs.
    I notice in one shot there's actually a busy road right over the fence, so can't believe the land has no value to its owner, its gotta be prime real estate. Whoever owns it probably does have plans for something more lucrative and is just waiting for permits (or arson), then all that nice architecture will be gone forever.

    How strange: it's a big posh beachside house- I'm very surprised it's in that state. Actually I'm more surprised it's still standing as it looks a good spot to chuck a load of holiday apartments on. I expect it won't be there much longer.

    There have been several videos and pics that documented the bad state of the property.

    Example:

    Not sure if you are the guy on that vid, but breaking in without proper permission is despicable - no matter what reasons you have.

    How clever of you to have seen them before.

    Some of us haven't and found it interesting: thanks for sharing, Silvertoe.

    Higgins isn’t the only one to have seen these before...it’s been brought up a few times over the years...

    And I’m not sure why you need the sarky tone? Seemed a perfectly reasonable reply from Higgins ?:)

    I haven't seen it before and I found it interesting; I'm not sure why a dismissive tone was needed.

    As stated i wasn't sure if this had been posted previously but as Emtiem points out not everybody will of seen it. The risk of repeating yourself on any forum is ever present and a search doesn't always produce results. I also posted you tube footage of Elrod house so apologies in advance if this has been done :)

    I have no issue with anyone finding this interesting, I think we all do...what I have issue with is people not respecting others...now I can’t see/find any ‘dismissive tone’ at all - which ‘bit’ did you find dismissive?

    But I did get your sarky tone loud and clear and I asked you why?
    I’d prefer a reply via PM so this thread can continue on without further disruption.

    No apologies needed at all - as you say, not everyone will have seen these or heard about them but the state of Palmyra is fairly well known...several members have been and shared their experiences with us here -{

    There are a lot of topics where one expects quarreling and personal feelings, such as Dalton's "tears", the killing of beloved characters and anything about Trump. I have to say I did not see this coming. I did not expect bitter quarrels about Palmyra :# :#

    This has been a nasty thread on what should have been an innocuous subject. Too much ill feeling for it to continue.
