Well done to Daniel Craig for becoming an honorary Royal Navy Commander, now it really does mean that one of the James Bond Actors is Commander Bond.
Were any of the other Actors given similar (Knighthoods aren't applicable)..........

Blimey, I go away for a few months and when I get back the world is upside down and Commander Bond is now Commander Craig!! Whaaaat......
It's a token gesture by the Armed Forces and a good PR stunt. Each service pretty much has them like Doris with the RAF (you know the lady from Countdown forget her name), the RM have Bear G (who is ex SAS go figure) and the Army well we do not go in for that sort of thing - we have enough trouble with the Royals grabbing Honoury Colonelships!
That said what Graig has done for RN (and SIS) recruitment cannot be understated (at least feeding hopeful recruits into the hopper) so a nice thank you gesture I guess. Just glad I got my rank the hard way - you can just imagine the stick he will be getting in the Mess oops I mean Galley over a wet or two!
Cheers 😎
It's Carol Vorderman who's an Honorary Air Commodore with the RAF/ Air Cadets but flaunts around as if she owns the RAF.
I'm just waiting for someone to photoshop the picture and replace Craig with Bond.
Anyone here good with photoshop?
Here's the full RN release on it, they also say he has particular interest in service families: https://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/news-and-latest-activity/news/2021/september/23/210923-daniel-craig-honorary-commander
Considering how his entrance as Bond involved the Royal Navy on the Thames all those years ago, he's certainly making a more successful Navy/London-based exit!
I think that is a really nice gesture, after all I have read about Craig's charity work for the British military forces. It is one of many reasons why I like him so much.
Splendid! Glad to learn of Craigger's charity interests. Wish we'd seen his Bond in uniform at least once! 😕

Gotta say that he really does suit that Uniform, could have sworn he was a Naval Officer already, cool really like it. I'm with you Loeffelholz, like Connery, Moore and Brosnan who all donned their Uniforms in YOLT, TSWLM and TND respectfully it would have been great, I thought that would be how Casino Royale would start with Bond dealing with a SPECTRE Agent who had hijacked a Naval Ship and he dealt with him Bond Style and that was how he earned his Double O Status.
Can’t believe no ones done this yet.
