Re: Omega MOVIE watch, No Time to Die

This is an interesting review and comparison of the new NTTD Seamaster from a fellow Bond enthusiast (sitting in an impressive little collection!) Is this a member here?

Anyway, well worth a watch...  ajb007/cool

Fun video, but as he's staring at and photoshopping an image of the watch on his iPad, and it's not in hand, I (and I'm sure he) would be wary of considering that a "review."

Yeah. There are way better video reviews of the watch on YouTube....

Re: Omega MOVIE watch, No Time to Die

New edition of The Rake through the letter box this morning, found myself Bond-ing with Eddie Redmayne.

Also wonderful article on the continuation DB5 launch at Stoke Park.

It does look nice there (I love a domed crystal!) but it's a bit surprising that another movie actor would want to be photographed wearing it! That's Mr Craig's watch! ajb007/smile

Re: Omega MOVIE watch, No Time to Die

That was a bit left of field but thinking about it having seen his other work he might actually make a good bond

Anybody know the timeframe of when Omega will allow the NTTD Nato to be individually purchased like the last one?

Re: Omega MOVIE watch, No Time to Die

Omega isnt exactly throwing out new watch releases like nike does new shoes, so at what point does continuous delays start to get to a point where they just say ok we cant keep pushing certain things back bc of this movie because as massive of an audience Bond draws in, they’ll be the first to tell you there’s plenty of non Bond related fans that buy plenty of Omega. But with that said, the massive amount of people that have been drawn to them bc of Bond cant be dismissed. Just very curious with how much certain brands are willing to wait either legally or financially until they say its starting to mess with their timeline of products. Maybe as a luxury brand and as long as they have a some here and there being bought it doesnt really mess with their numbers? Im not an expert, but have wondered how delays do or dont affect high luxury brands with release timelines.

You can purchase it through omega now with a special order directly from them. Call customer service and they can set you up.

What delay are you speaking of? The watch is out. Stock seems to be limited (or maybe metered is the right term), but they aren't holding anything back. Ditto the clothing brands.

And on that tip, if the clothing brands are paying attention to Barbour or N Peal or Billy Reid, they know they can still sell the kit for years afterward. A delayed release probably means more sales, ultimately, giving fence-sitters more time to pull the trigger.

842

Re: Omega MOVIE watch, No Time to Die

Yeah, it might even weirdly be better for them this way: if the film comes out and turns out to be a complete stinker -the worst Bond film ever- it might turn people off buying the products. But as long as all there is are lots of shots Daniel Craig looking cool wearing the stuff and an exciting trailer then they're golden ajb007/biggrin

Good point, it just seems like in the past more stores had them available as well as various straps/bands etc. all around the launch of the movie but because of the delay it seems as though they are playing it a bit more close to the vest/maybe more “exclusive” is a marketing strategy as well. You kinda gotta do a little work to get it this go around. I know the watches definitely wont be considered “old news” and will be purchased yrs to come but at the same time I was wondering marketingwise at what point do they focus more on future projects.

Thanks man, my local store that carries Omega definitely told me they weren’t available but should be at some point. Saw your post and did just that, called the closest actual Omega store instead and you were right. Thanks!

I've worn mine every day since I bought it, so it's had a good couple of months of 'wear and tear' - and I don't tend to protect my watches too much, they get knocked around and bashed due to my, slightly, clumsy nature! I am pleased to say that it doesn't appear to have a single mark or scratch on it at the moment.

Yes. Considerably.

Re: Omega MOVIE watch, No Time to Die

Did anybody else receive this email from OMEGA promoting a free watch care kit with any purchase?

I wonder if it is worth asking for one as I recently ordered the 007 NNTD edition?
