Re: QoS Harrington

Will they be ready to ship when we order or do we have to wait?

?? When they’re listed for sale they’re in stock. Dan doesn’t do preorders or backorders for things.

Very keen to pick up the beige harrington—it looks great! Been on the hunt for one for years.

Having briefly owned the Tom Ford version (with leather accents) in light beige it is a beauty. I already have a beige Baracuta G9, so I don't need it. I wonder how much willpower I will have this weekend?

Re: QoS Harrington

The jackets are available now. I got my order in for both.

Website now working. Must resist the temptation of the beige Harrington.

Re: QoS Harrington

Grabbed the beige/ivory one.  I'm still happy with my navy ones so I'm going to hold off on another of those until i get the beige one and can compare the fit.

Funny thing: my wife and I agreed to not buy any more clothing for the rest of the year.  I showed her a picture of the beige jacket and she was like 'oh, you're definitely getting that one.'  She's so cool.

Re: QoS Harrington

I got mine today. They were shipped Tuesday and made it all the way to Indiana in just a few short days. Totally surprised by that.

Anyway, both the navy and beige are amazing. I'm glad I went with the small. They fit me pretty well and there's room to bulk up. The cotton feels great. All my previous jackets that fit in the fall/spring category have been polyester or some kind of mix so this is a nice change.

Attention to detail is pretty good. The stitching is good overall. Some sloppiness here and there, but it's mostly on the inside so not noticeable. The sloppy stitching on the outside is minimal and I only noticed it cause I went over them closely. In reality no one will notice and I will probably forget about it.

Dan did a fantastic job. I'm eagerly looking forward to the run of the Haiti jacket next year  ajb007/smile  ajb007/martini

Edit: Adding for reference on sizing. I'm 5'7", 130-135 lbs, about 36 in chest and 31 in waist. Like Greg137 said below, the sleeves are also a smidge long on mine, but using the second button stops it from falling over my hands so I won't be changing anything there. The overall jacket length is good too. When Dan said he lengthened them on this run I was a bit worried since I'm on the shorter side, but the length is perfect.

Re: QoS Harrington

I just received my size medium Royale Filmwear cream Harrington. I’m very happy with the fit. Sleeves are a bit long but that’s about it. No need to have it taken in. For reference I’m 5, 9” 170 lbs.

Re: QoS Harrington

Would be good to see some pictures of the new jackets for those who have received them please? I’m eagerly awaiting my two in a small.

Same.  my beige medium came yesterday and, while the sleeves are a tad long, the buttons take care of the issue.  the overall fit is awesome.

for me: size 41 suit, size 50 or 52 in a Belstaff jacket.  5'9.5", 165 lbs.

Size medium. I’m 5’ 9” 170 lbs. please excuse the wrinkles. I haven’t had time to steam. I’ll be having the sleeves shortened a bit.

Re: QoS Harrington

Actual measurements of size medium. Chest 22”, shoulder 19”, sleeves 27”, back length 27 1/4” (a full 2” longer then previous versions). Should work for taller men. I’m 5’ 9” and prefer a bit shorter. But still looks good. Overall Dan has done another great job. Looking forward to a updated Haiti jacket.

Damn! I am sized almost identical to you and it looks like when my MEDIUM arrives it will definitely need some sleeve adjustment and if possible some shoulder adjustment as well.

Apart from that it looks great! I can't wait for it to arrive!

after that the back length is around half an inch longer than the Size chart with 26.8 says, I'm between a L and an XL and wanted to order the XL because of the longer back but if they are longer anyway I would go for the L, can someone relate? maybe an owner of a Large, that you

jacket looks great

Re: QoS Harrington

I've been meaning to measure my smalls to see how they differ from the chart. Also will try to get better pics. Work has been very busy.

I've worn each one once so far on walks around the neighborhood. Mid-40s and with a light t-shirt (both short sleeve and long sleeve) I was not cold. Even with it being windy enough to have wanted earmuffs. The cotton does a great job at keeping the wind out.

Re: QoS Harrington

I came across a Harrington at Uniqlo of all places that was a solid match for the TF one. Sleeves/shoulders are a bit loose, but the fit is dead-on in the chest. Will post photos shortly, but it was a solid frugal alternative.

I think I'd just purchased the exact same one you are talking about. It doesn't come in navy unfortunately, but in black.

It comes with cuff sleeve openings with button adjustment, and normal hem without the elastic, just like the QoS version. Unfortunately it doesn't have shoulder seam, but a raglan style rounded shoulders like most traditional harrington jackets. It does have button waist adjustments that cinches in the waist, giving it a more streamline fit. I like that.

Instead of cotton it is made of a poly-nylon material that's very light and breathable. I am really digging this jacket as a viable alternative. If only it comes in navy...... ajb007/crap
