Looking forward to the ITV drama later tonight about the notorious serial killer Dennis Nilsen. David Tennant plays the lead character.

    Indeed...I’ll be recording this series to watch them all back-to-back -{

You won't be disappointed Sir Miles ... episode 1 was excellent & David Tennant is simply superb.

I loved 'Des'. Years ago I read the book 'Killing For Company'.

Thought everyone who starred in it was brilliant. Tennant will get all the awards but Jason Watkins and Daniel Mays were fabulous.

I really like Daniel Mays. I could just imagine him playing a cheeky MI6 agent annoying Bond.

Just finished rewatching all The Sweeney episodes (and both films) on Amazon.

Some of them still stand up today and it really was breaking boundaries in it's day. It's also very funny at times.

I would say though, the terminology and expressions used would make your hair curl today. I winced at least once every episode. :o

Tonight I watched Freddie Flintoff: Living with bulimia. Very moving and sad that he has struggled with this for 20 years. Incredibly brave of him to share his story and also the men who shared their journeys too. Hopefully, this will encourage other men who suffer from bulimia to get help and to talk about it .

Not so much on TV but as Amazon Prime are having an on going sale I've added a few series of
The Man From UNCLE, so I now have all four seasons {[] I'm a happy little 60s espionage fan.

Nice to see Spitting Image back, sure some of the voices aren't spot on but it is
Refreshing to see a comedy that pokes fun at all sides, Conservative and Labour
as well as The Republicans and Democrats {[]

I'm watching the start of season 3 of "Babylon Berlin", a high-end German series set in Berlin's criminal underworld of interwar Berlin.
This is a time and location we seldom see on TV, but fans of the Bernie Gunther novels will love this TV series!
I certainly think Babylon Berlin is awsome :D

I'm rewatching Poldark seasons 2 and 3. They're not on tv now but I have them recorded. I have seasons 4 and 5 too that I haven't yet seen.

I loved that series. I think they're on Netflix and I was thinking of rewatching them. I was watching something recently and there was an actor I couldn't place .... turned out to be George Warleggan! He looked a bit different without all his fancy clothes :))

I watched 'Life After Flash' recently. Very interesting documentary about Sam Jones and 'Flash Gordon'. Turns out he did a bit of a Lazenby and became a complete pain and thought he was bigger than the film. I enjoyed it very much. Brian Blessed is so funny. He reckons Flash Gordon is the Queen's favourite film. She watched it with the kids and asked him to say 'Gordon's alive?' ... of course she did Brian ;)

It would have been very superficial of me to say I was only watching Poldark for Aidan Turner ..... :x :x :x

I only watched Poldark for the great story telling, fabulous scenery and superb acting .... absolutely nothing to do with Aidan Turner running around with his top off :v

I perfectly understand. Just like when I watched Mad Men it was because of he high quality of the show an not because of Christina Hendricks. :D

I watch it for the same reasons as you, Lady Rose. Aidan Turner with his shirt off is just an added bonus :D

I'm watching the last part of season 5 of Vikings. It's stil the best viking viking themed story on TV or screen, but that's still damming with faint praise. I just saw a scene Harald Fairhair is in York. He first talks to an actor who can't hide his American accent to save his life, then he fights some and then gives a speach about extending his power from France to Scotland, from Ireland to Rus(sia), and he wants York to be the capital. He is wearing some kind of Hollywood medieval biker outfit, his face is full of tatoos and his hair is braided and fairly short,
    Bollocks!
Harald Fairhiar promised not to cut his hair until he is king of Norway, and at this point he clearly isn't. His ambitions were to unite Norway, not some international viking empire, and I never heard of him involved in fighting between small kingdoms in Britain. There is no evidence to suggest vikings used tatoos, but I guess it's cool now so that why they use it in the show.
I'll continue watching, but only because there are so few viking movies and TV shows where they aren't wearing horned helmets. If the Americans here can imagine a world where there are very few cowboy movies and no good ones, and most people belive cowboys wore hats with large pom-poms .... that's how things are like for a Norwegian with an interest in vikings. X-(

Are there any film producers in Norway (or other Scandinavian countries) who you can lobby to make a Viking film?

I just finished watching the first season last week - thoroughly enjoyed it, one of the best series I've seen for a while.

Looks like I picked the right time to watch it ... Season 2 starts on 22nd October in the UK.

I like Daniel Bruhl as an actor. He was excellent as Niki Lauda in 'Rush'

Re Re-watching Blakes 7 on Britbox. I still think Paul Darrow would have made a great Bond
    after Roger.

I've just finished binge watching the second series of 'The Alienist'. Really, really enjoyed it.

I do love anything set in that period of time. 'Ripper Street' rates as one of my most favourite series ever and this is of a similar vein.

I really hope there is a third series.

That's on my watch list. I'm not sure why I haven't watched it yet or how it passed me by when it was on TV especially has Sean Bean in it !!

From watching The Professionals on Amazon Prime, I've been looking up a few interviews
on Lewis Collins on YouTube. On one he said he "could" have been the drummer for The
Beatles before Ringo got the Job. As he was working as a hairdresser with Paul's Brother
and he told him he could get him an audition for the Band. Lewis said " I told him, in a
couple of years I could be earning £42 a week here " :D

I've been watching the David Hare dramatisations about how venal the British govt is - more of a documentary these days. :#

That said, there's a running joke about stuff like Collateral and Roadkill that you get a point every time something occurs that would never happen in real life.

Oddly, it does tend to resemble aspects of Spectre - still at the time of writing the last James Bond film. All those internecine goings-on and thwarting of democracy. If it's not your cup of tea, I can see why many didn't take to Spectre.
"This is where we leave you Mr Bond."

I read about that only recently!!

    Apparently he was quite musical.
