I am all for it, but I and many others still doubt that the Brexit vote was FAIR!
The Brexit Camp where cheating with funding on many ways ( Russia came to help), they where lying ( anyone remember the NHS bus and the migrant caravan posters) and calling this out doesn‘t make me an undemocrat!

Whatever your opinions of the original referendum are we have since had two general elections, both won with a Brexit mandate. The last one in December could not have been clearer or more decisive. That's basically 3 votes on Brexit.
I voted remain but I have to say the Remain campaign was an absolute disgrace. I view it that Leave didn't win.It was Remain's referendum to lose and they screwed it up massively. Nigel may have been running around on a big red bus but George Osborn was threatening punishment budgets and World War 3!!

Voter turnout in the 2016 election was 55.5%. The last time the tournout was over 60% was back in 1968. But in Texas alone the early voting is already nearly as high as the total turnout in 2016. Do you think it's possible the turnout will hit 60% on Tuesday?

I asked a question in the movie thread, but I belive it's relelvant here too: In the last 10-20 years has there been any major movies or TV series about the opioid crisis, the decline of industry in the US and the rust belt in particular, the steady decline of coal and the prolems in agriculture in the midwest?
Back in the day there were movies like Metawan (1987), The coal miner's daughter (1990), Harlan county war (2000), Panic in needle park (1971) etc.
I think a large part of Trump's success comes down to people in these situations and areas have felt neglected by Washington and they feel/felt seen by Donald Trump. It's another question if he really cares about them, but I think parts of Trump's supports can be explained this way. A Hollywood movie or five won't fix their problems, but feeling seen is a powerful thing. I wish ... say, the budget of "Batman vs Superman" had been spent on a few movies on these issues, using first rate actors, scriptwiters and directors.
I think this happens in votes in other countries for the same reason.
I did not vote in the Brexit vote, although I was able to, and I had no side to take - only that I would respect the outcome. I do think that the factor of 'neglect' was a part in the Brexit vote by people who thought they were being left behind by the government and EU. The Labour party and others who tried to undermine that vote had their answer from the people several times but, most importantly of all in December 2019. That should be a warning to any political party anywhere who want to ignore or dismiss the voice of the electorate.
Whether this next point is actually true or not I can only speculate but I do know that the EU was blamed on many occasions for many things by politicians - some times just to cover their own failings. This excuse (if it was an excuse) can no longer be used.
While I am not a fan of Trump, it does not matter to me personally who wins the US elections, but, whoever it is, and even though
I might not like it, I will respect the vote of the people and therefore the outcome.

I did some research. One of the two types of insuline I use is Novorapid flexpen, called Novolog in the US. I pay 230 NOK for one package, that's 24 USD. In the US you have to pay at least 116 USD for the same package of five flexpens!

Many Americans have no idea what radical socialism really is. I remember some years ago I posted about the far left in Norway (we have maoists and stalinists, but very few). An American posted back:"We have a far left here too" and posted a photo of the US Senate ) ) )
And I have lived through real 'socialist' oppression and also been a victim of it.
Imprisonment was the 'kindest' of the fates the real extremists issued to me.
I still bear the scars, mental and physical.

So true. when I listen to Trump and others talking about Kamala Harries and others as "the extreme left" I just shake my head and laugh. Luckily I don't have the direct experience you have, but I have read a lot about communism in the Soviet Union, DDR and China under Mao. I have had discussions with stalinists and maoists both online and face to face. Even Bernie Sanders is very far from the real extreme left.

My personal opinion was, that if significantly more people would vote, that would be a landslide win for the democrats because it was hard to believe for me that Trump will be able to get „new“ voters from that plus. Turns out, that I‘ve been totally wrong - for the first time ever may I say

it goes agains my political and ethical conviction to say that's a bad thing even though we know it's because of the level of conflict in the country.
