I think I'd just purchased the exact same one you are talking about. It doesn't come in navy unfortunately, but in black.

It comes with cuff sleeve openings with button adjustment, and normal hem without the elastic, just like the QoS version. Unfortunately it doesn't have shoulder seam, but a raglan style rounded shoulders like most traditional harrington jackets. It does have button waist adjustments that cinches in the waist, giving it a more streamline fit. I like that.

Instead of cotton it is made of a poly-nylon material that's very light and breathable. I am really digging this jacket as a viable alternative. If only it comes in navy...... ajb007/crap

I believe that's the one. Yes, the shoulders are probably my biggest issue with it. The color...eh, it's a muted enough black that it felt more navy in arrival (only a shade darker than my navy polo). The waist adjustments made it feel more Bond, but I do want to try and get the shoulders and armpits more taken in. Otherwise I am quite happy with a surprise budget find, especially as I cannot afford many of the other alternatives.

Before and after. Sleeves shortened A full 2”. And a good steaming. Size medium I’m 5’ 9”. I prefer the shorter length of previous versions. (Over 5’ 11” the added length is a benefit)  I’m still happy with the jacket overall. Thanks again Dan.

This is my first post on this forum.
I have recently received a Navy Harrington from Royale Filmwear.
It’s in the smallest size (XS).
I’m really pleased with it, it’s a great jacket but it’s a little long in the sleeves and wide in the shoulders for me. This is not unexpected - it seems to correspond to the advertised dimensions accurately.
I’m thinking of asking a tailor to explore adjustments to the sleeves and shoulders.
Can anyone with experience of getting changes made to these or similar jackets advise me please on what exactly to ask/tell the tailor to ensure that the fit is improved but without spoiling or changing the general appearance of the finish and details?  Is it worth altering?

Regarding your question..... considering the cost of the jacket i wouldn't even bother with the shoulders as it's a major deal to do the alterations though it will be up to the tailor if they wanna take the risk! When it comes to the sleeves that should be a straight forward adjustment and shouldn't be too expensive to be completed. Hopefully that answered your question and please let us know how any alterations turn out!

Shortening the sleeves is no problem. Not expensive. The shoulders are difficult and expensive. Not all alterations Taylor’s will do them.

Just received mine and I LOVE IT. I do have trouble with the zip being VERY hard to put together. Once it "click" it easily zip up, but putting it together at the bottom is very hard. Anyone else has this problem or know how to fix it ?

It's my only concern cause everything else is perfect about this version.

Honestly, shoulders really can't be altered.  They can be tweaked slightly but that's it.  sleeves are no problem.  Just go to a tailor and they will know what to do.

Yes, my zip was like this out of the bag, I was a little concerned as it wouldn't initially pull up and I genuinely thought it was going to break if I forced it. Finally it zipped up without too much force and without breaking but i do find that inserting the 'pin' when doing up the jacket still isn't 100%. Zip works fine but this slider body isn't convincing me it's robust. We'll see.

Otherwise, a beautiful jacket. Just had to get 3 inches taken off the sleeves by a tailor.

It help if you don't pull on the left zip while putting it together. Just letting it rest in place and inserting the right part work so far. It seem to get better the more I use it too. So hopefully it's a a minor glitch and will resolve itself with time because it is a beautifull jacket!

The zipper on my navy hasn't given me much trouble. The zipper on the cream though is a pain to unzip. Once at the bottom it doesn't want to separate. Like you, I think it will get better with use.

Thanks to everyone who replied to this - all the responses were incredibly helpful.
In the end last week I took my Royale Filmwear Harrington to a local tailor and he volunteered that he could bring the shoulders in to suit my slimmer frame.
I understood that it wouldn't be difficult to shorten the sleeves but agreed to the adjustment of the shoulders with trepidation.
The jacket arrived today (it didn't take long) and I'm delighted with the result.
I can't see any discernible change in the jacket's fantastic original finish or appearance but it now fits me even better!
See what you make of it.  I think this might not be the last time I pay a visit to this tailor!

Looks like you found a good tailor.  From those pictures, I can't see any puckering at the shoulders to show that work was done.  Nice work!

My beige Medium arrived today and contrary to what i expected it was perfect in the shoulders.   ajb007/biggrin

Overall... i love it! It pisses me off that my tailor is closed due to the lockdown and i can't adjust the sleeves immediately.
