......... but I’d just note that you (and most of the people here) fall into the group what people I would consider to be “ardent collectors.”

Well, yeah :D. And I particularly collect British issue military Omega watches too. So it appeals to that as well as the Bond connection.

MLC, I guess you’ll be the Litmus test. And we will all be awaiting the outcome for better or worse. Just hope it works out to be something you want and fulfills your expectations. Despite my trauma with Omega, the watch actually did that. I’ll still never buy another watch off them again ever.

My watch arrived today. Whilst I was fully expecting the V2 bracelet, I was still disappointed when I opened the box to see it had shipped with the updated version. I have attached some images of the revised areas.

I may well be in the minority, but there is something about it that now leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Buying a watch or any product for that matter, waiting over twelve weeks for it, just to receive something different, without even being told.

I will sleep on it but how I feel about it at the moment, the watch will be going back :(

That really sucks. I hate to say it, but it looks off. This looks like an aftermarket bracelet, it just goes against the flow of the lugs and stands out too much. But at least it won’t break.

It's an understandable reaction, but I must say I've spent this week side-eyeing my v1 bracelet and to be honest "worry" is not the primary emotion I want to feel when I look at the watch. I'm keeping the v1 (as it's now going to be "rare"ish) and am assuming Omega will replace the bracelet when and if it does break (whenever that may be), but I'm resigned to not actually "enjoying" the watch until that nagging thought about the bracelet runs its course, maybe in a few months.

For what it's worth, the watch is no less aesthetically pleasing with the new bracelet, in my opinion, but the non-SA factor would upset me as well. If it helps, a TRUE SA version wouldn't have the 007 logo on the back, so in a way, none of us have true screen accuracy?

Your last point re SA is what I keep telling myself. I call my PO the Skyfall watch, but it is also not SA as it is steel and not titanium.

I guess it is now a battle for most NTTD watch owners; do you retain the V1 for the greater authenticity and have an underlying fear it will fail or relieve that fear with the less SA V2.

I cancelled my NTTD order. I was in South Carolina for the election - I got here in April - and the AD I ordered with in April still hasn't gotten mine in. And now I'm leaving. Then reading all the stories of Omega's BS and then the v2 bracelet? I'm out. For 10k I'm out. What a disappointment.

I will assume the bracelet replacement is not some limited time offer and hang onto the v1. And I still am looking to hear first-person stories about the bracelet breaking.

I may be wrong, but just based on what I was told about all watches now leaving the factory will have the V2 and Omega stating the watch will stay in the main collection until the next movie I think the the opportunity to swap the bracelet, should you wish to do so, will be there for years to come.

It always looked like an aftermarket - right from the beginning!

There is no alignment, no adjustment to the lug shape and the case design and those horrible lug gaps 8-) .
Milannaise bracelets have been cheap and ugly aftermarket solutions for decades - they rarely exceeded $20 of retail over all that time.

Still enjoying the heck out of my V1! Not showing any signs of breaking (famous last words!) - and having seen the pictures on the other thread, I do wonder what on earth they were doing to the watch to try to break the thing? Certainly looked like 'violent' breaks under pressure, rather than something that would happen under normal wear and tear.

Spoke with my AD and they haven't heard anything but have assured me that should mine break at any time they would resolve for me.

I'm not a watch aficionado as many of you on this thread are - nor do I buy 'because it's Bond'. I bought it because I really liked it when I saw it and was fortunate that our work bonuses had just been paid and mine was burning a hole in my pocket.

I figure that the cost of the accidental loss/damage insurance is worth it, especially as it hasn't been off my wrist since it arrived. Whereas my Spectre LE sits in it's box and rarely sees the sunlight :)
    Yes. Considerably.

That’s insane. Omega have them in stock constantly. The fact that you’ve been waiting for sol long surely points to what a few of us speculated a year or so back now, that Omega are indeed holding them back to create false lead times.

Just a thought...I wonder if they (Omega) had been testing and had sussed that there was a potential problem with the original bracelet? If they did and decided to stop production until they'd worked out a 'Plan B', it may explain some of the 'lack of stock' - I mean, they did seem to have a replacement out very quickly.

Though I am sure the continued delay of the film release will have played a part, in hindsight, they're probably delighted they have changed the bracelet before the big push on release of the film.

Up to a few weeks back they were still shipping the old bracelet though. A friend of mine got the old bracelet around three weeks back. And I saw the watch in the window of agents mid October with the old bracelet too.

There are a lot of people that have been buying this watch from January/February. I’ve not seen anything about other people’s bracelet coming apart since seeing that post on the Omega forums.

Evening all , I'm afraid I also have to agree with Higgins on this . That strap/ bracelet just looks all wrong. I have had many Omega watches over the years ( I change / upgrade every few years)
I have a Seamaster at the moment , along with an Aqua Terra & was looking at getting another Omega as an Xmas pezzie for myself, but may look at something else now instead

You had me go check - and it's available on the US site right now too! What is even the point of the AD?

That's fair - - at that price range, a major structural/aesthetic issue shouldn't be coming up.

I'm still very skeptical and haven’t finally decided what to think about the v2.

Went to visit the boutique in San Antonio on Monday. Nary a Bond reference to be found, save for a copy of Blood, Sweat, & Bond on display in the back. They had ONE NTTD Seamaster on the mesh in the back, reserved for a customer who has already paid. They did take it out to show someone else, so when they were done, I walked over and asked to see it as well. Original bracelet.

I had asked last Thursday if they had any of the NTTD Omega Lifetime magazines and they said they did. Well, no more by the time I made it there. They don't expect to get any more until maybe the movie comes out.

I wound up upgrading my clasp on my ceramic Seamaster to a micro adjustable one, but after working on it for over an hour, the sales associates could not get one side to attach and I had to leave it there for the tech to work on yesterday. The bracelet arrived at my home today, but I haven't been there to inspect it yet.

Had a massive box delivered today, thought it was an Amazon order until the Amazon order just turned up. Opened it to find two bottles of Bollinger in there, which confused me, but digging around deeper through the packing peanuts, I find Omega branded candles, key ring, and spare nato and repair kit. It’s been six months since I last heard off them with my complaint, and there’s no covering letter, just a Christmas card. The Bollinger is even their old Omega branded bottles, which is cool.

It’s just odd, that they all of a sudden decide to do that with no covering letter or explanation. I’m exceptionally happy and surprised. But surely if they had put that much effort into it six months back, then they could have saved themselves some bad publicity and cheered me up after they’d upset me. Either way. HUZZAH!!!!!

I ordered the NTTD Omega directly from the Omega site about two months ago, but the only model listed for sale at the time was on the NATO strap. Since I really wanted the titanium, as well, I contacted the Swatch Spare Parts team and ordered just the bracelet. They told me it was on back order for 4-6 weeks (possibly due to the issues pointed out in this thread), but I just got shipping confirmation today that it should be here this weekend.

Anyway, in case anyone was looking to pick up a (probably V2) titanium bracelet, they seem to be in stock at the moment.

It was $1400 plus tax and $10 shipping. A hefty price tag, for sure, but according to the OB - if you want both straps, it’s cheaper (by a little) to buy the watch on NATO and then add the titanium rather than the other way around.

I received my NTTD omega just before Christmas and the watch has the V2 mesh .
I believe that going forward, all the watches will have the V2 bracelet.
I of course would prefer an SA model, but i dont want to take the risk of losing the watch.

I have noticed that the AD I purchased my NTTD 300M from has it listed again on their site. They used to have a line in the product description saying that discount codes could not be used on the watch, it has been removed so maybe Omega are easing on the "no discount" message they seemed to adopt when it was first released.

I'm so curious about how these delays are affecting Omega's sales of the NTTD Seamaster. I have seen a few on the secondhand market but no appreciable drop in price.
  • CheverianCheverian Posts: 1,446MI6 Agent

Others who follow the industry might have better information, but my sense is that the NTTD Seamaster is holding its value pretty well. Even secondhand watches seem to be going for close to the MSRP.
