This curfew Business certainly adds a new sparkle to the day with a frisson of excitement.
Tonight I had to get a curry and get it home before eight pm ...... Happily I was successful :D

I'm riveted by your suspenseful day, TP. :D

I was just reminded of something by a standup comedian on TV. (His show is about his hate of hiking in the mountains. A quick survey told him 484 of the 500 people in the audience had been hiking in the last year. The show was shot in 2019)
He reminded me of a time before mobile phones when radio programs sometimes were interupted by messages like this:
" This is a message to Danish citizen Preben Nilsen currently on holiday in Northern Norway. His mother is dead."
Do you remember moments like this too (with some changes to names and locations) or was NRK Reiseradioen just particularely collous about human emotions?
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
Yes, I do remember those Radio appeals for " Mr ..... on Holiday in Antrim .... etc " but they never
gave exact details. Only that they were to call home or get in touch with the police.

The curfew reminds me of another old, very old joke, about a warden shooting a man at
7;50. His superior asked why he shot the man as it was still 10 minutes until the curfew ?
only to get the answer " I knew where he lived sir, and he'd never have made it in ten minutes " {:)

Also I whish they'd broadcast " The Purge " siren every night :D

seafood, ...... so I opened a packet of Prawn cocktail crisps. ;)

I don’t mind Oysters, but the side effect is not funny.
It’s caviar I can’t stand. Evil stuff, it’s like eating pure salt. Ick.

Today and tomorrow are my days off, so I’ll have the Prawn Cocktail crisps too.

Very quiet New Years this year, I'm having a few Tia Marias and coke watching
    (As I'm a big culture Fan) .........
" Carry On Abroad " on Britbox. It's been restored and cleaned up a little, but
not too cleaned up, as there is still some nudity in it ( according to the warning
    at the start ) :D

    I don't like caviar either! I'm such a cheap date :))

One of my neighbours really went for it at midnight with a terrific firework display. I stood outside for about 10 minutes watching it.

It made me feel quite emotional. I'm not sure if it was that I was glad to see that back of 2020 or the several glasses of wine I'd had. Probably both :D

    Happy New Year everyone -{

One Double, doubled Barbel, I'm having one two, too.

(Thunderbird 2 places a silver tray with a thistle pattern at Barbel's table.
It has a decanter and two glasses. Holly pads up to the table, sniffs the booze
and makes a face. She lies down next to Barbel's feet and starts cleaning her
    claws.)

Don't look like that Cat! You know You don't like it neat!
Cheers Barbel. To Mr Michael Apted. He did far better work
than he gave himself credit for. Cheers! {[]

    Very Good M'Lady!

(TB2 carefully squints through the Reds and finds a very velvety
Chardonay. He half fills a large goblet wine glass and presents it to Lady R
at the table. Holly moves round to Lady R, and takes an interest. She is
looking to get her ears tickled.)

Does anyone kniw what is gappening with NTTD?
I assume its been moved again?

    Morning everybody

    One Black Velvet, please.

On my last cruise, I have decided to give Black Velvet a first try but all barkeepers onborad have never heard about it.

I‘ve explained, they made one and I quite liked it for lunch - and so did the barkeepers.
The following days, I just had to show up and my Black Velvets where ready for me in seconds :D

Did you have Guiness in it? I'd be surprised if you could get stout on a cruise.
  • HigginsHiggins GermanyPosts: 16,618MI6 Agent
Oh, plenty of Guiness on Celebrity Edge back in November 2019!
It was more difficult to get a decent Champagne for it - the term is much more freely used in the US. We“d call most of it cheap sparkling wine

    Hullo Higgins.

Here is a Black velvet variation, Midnight Blue Velvet.
Uses the colour of Blueberries, with minimal impact on the taste.
    Brouce!!

Hi (reaches over the counter, leaves some money and helps oneself to a Coke Zero, a bit like Craig enjoying death)

I've just made a poll and posted it in the NTTD sub-forum.
"When and how do you think NTTD will be released?"
    Everyone's invited to vote :)

(The A.R.S.E.'s Cylon eye scans the bar. His eye goes a deep gray colour and starts crowing an "Awooga" klaxon, like the one on BBC's QI Thunderbird 2 comes charinging out of the Kitchen, expecting trouble....)

What in bloddy blue blazes is that din all about?! (Spots the coins on the bar, the missing Coke Zero and Glass)

    NO 24!!! How could You?!
You bypassed the A.R.S.E?!! No wonder he is upset!

Automatic bar service is suspended until I can calm him down enough for a service re-set.
(The klaxon stops, the A.R.S.E goes into recharge mode and calm resumes. Well almost....
    TB2 muttering....)

Enough to do... brewery order due... Freddys Vet appointment... Appeasing temperamental Service AIs....
Not had breakfast yet.... Where is Pussy?... Enough tom make you scream!
