I think for the death poll, get rid of gunshot and possibly strangled and have explosion and crushed, oh and maybe car crash! There are too many!

How about taking it in another direction:

    Villian
    Henchman
    Random soldier
    Own fault
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and everyone dies.

What a bloodthirsty lot you all are! You should at least include "In bed of old age."

Yer I think that might be a nicer idea, the other way is a bit blood thirsty.

Or what about the poll for best 'unescapable' situation!

    Yeah I'd like a Best Blofeld;

    Anthony Dawson
    Donald Pleasance
    Telly Savalas
    Charles Gray

    How about Max Von Sydow?

Yes it's a non EON Bond but it's still Bond, and he was perfect for the role.

Thanks for the Blofeld poll, SiCo, so far it's Savalas by 2.

How about a music related poll like:

    Best Bond Track:

    The James Bond Theme
    The 007 Theme
    Bond 77
    Company Car
    Ice Chase
    On Her Majesty's Secret Service
"My acting range? Left eyebrow raised, right eyebrow raised..."

I like the Idea but I don't know The 007 Theme (as opposed to The James Bond Theme), Bond 77 or Company Car.

Ice Chase makes sense to me though, any way they could all be put in that format?!

[1] "007 Theme" also known simply as "007". Crops up under various titles on various OSTs- eg "Boat Chase" in MR. Used by its composer John Barry for big action sequences such as the underwater battle which ends TB, the oil rig fight at the end of DAF, etc. First appeared in FRWL.

[2] "Bond 77" from TSWLM- it's on the OST and used a couple of times in the film (eg the ski chase) although I'm sure The Cat is waiting to point out that different recordings are used in the film and album.

[3] "Company Car" from TND. Composed by David Arnold for the BMW sequence.

All great choices, and just right for booming out of the stereo in your Aston Martin as you drive to the supermarket. :)

Perhaps Si could add a new poll each week!

Ah, a well deserved victory for Donald Pleasance, my favourite!

    I say best villainess, next!

Elektra King- sex, sadism & snobbery in one smouldering seductress!

All bow to Barbel, King of alliteration!

    The contenders should be;

    Miranda Frost
    Elektra King
    Xenia Onatopp
    Mayday
    Fiona Volpe
    Klebb

(I know there are others; Irma Bunt, Bambi and Thumper, Helga Brandt... etc, but really you can't have THAT many in a poll. I think those above are the most memorable of the villainesses)
  • 00640064 Somewhere out west...Posts: 1,083MI6 Agent
Great idea. However, I think that Brandt should replace klebb. Just my two cents though.

No way! You ask fifty people on the street which female Bond villain they remember the most, I guarantee the majority will go 'the one with the spike in her shoe'.

I have added a new Poll based on one on BBC News. I am interested to see how the results will compare.

I hope they match (going on the reults now).

I will change it quite soon so throw some ideas.

Unfortunately, the BBC poll seems to have been closed. I could not find it earlier. When I last looked the vote was 19% for a boycott and 81% against. A short while ago the AJB poll was 21% for a boycott and 79% against. So, the closeness of both polls (in percentage terms) is pretty much what you hoped for, SiCo.

Why isn't there a number count next to each percentage in the new poll?
  • SiCoSiCo EnglandPosts: 1,371M
Because I removed it as I didn't think it was needed after all.

    How about "Best Villian's lair."

I can't think of many examples, I'm sure other people will help me out! Such as "Satellite in a lake".

    Bond's Best Car should come into it somewhere also;

Aston Martin DB5, Lotus Esprit, BMW Z3, Aston Martin Vanquish to name but a few...

That's a good one. I suppose the contenders could be:

    Palmyra
    Blofeld's Volcano
    Piz Gloria
    Scaramanga's Island
    Atlantis
"My acting range? Left eyebrow raised, right eyebrow raised..."

I'd also add Auric Stud, St Cyril's, the Olimpatec Meditation Institute and the Maiden's Tower as potential candidates.

    How about this one?:
"Most worthy 007 contenders not to land the role"
    1960's - Cary Grant
    1970's - Michael Billington
    1980's - Sam Neill
    1990's - Liam Neeson

Hmmmmm, since favorite Bond girl has probably been done or would be too many spaces how about:

    Favorite Bit-part girl?

    Jenny Flex
    Pan Ho
    Naomi
    Log Cabin Girl
    Dink?

Is there an option for users to post polls in their posts? I'd really like to do that, you can on Cbn if you're an administrator. Can we?
