Both. I never felt under-armed though when we had to go with the PPK, the yellow card did that for us ;) Predominantly used the BHP '9milly' throughout my career, although I have used the Sig P228, H&K P7M8 and Smith and Wesson 3913 extensively over the other predominant autos.

Beautiful piece of German engineering. It has to be the fastest and safest pistol design ever, very quick to acquisition, flat and accurate. It does get very dirty from the carbon build up though, and is more suited to an urban environment due to it's intolerence of dirt.

Usual Hk delayed blow back problem with carbon then, hated cleaning the 33 and MP5 after a day on the range with them.

Yeah, there's nothing like cleaning crud out of the port with a carbon scraper day after day. And when used with a suppressor you get a face full of hot black chaff everytime you fire. Great fun.

You stay safe over there, 4 years was too long, and four weeks was enough for most. Hopefully things are getting better, but that is a topic for another time and place.

Had a chance to compare the models of P99 compact today, they are excellent. The difference in size between the PPK and P99 is just about perfect for concealed carry. The strange looking triggerguard is actually very useful when using the forefinger of the weak hand.

I like it. It's a funky little firearm. Now we must lobby Eon to use it in the next film.

I wasn't. But since I've spent a bit of time with the thing, it has surprised me. The ergonomics are great and it is naturally pointable, much like my beloved BHP. It's won me over completely. Still an ugly spud though.

As here mentioned, I am not apologizing for a spur of the moment mathematical error, as I have also served in the armed forces, and I was also glad to see others tell their stories. I guess i'm just the lonely old ground pounder, US Army Ranger and later went onto the Navy for underwater training with the navy and I am one of 2,000 graduates of Aviator SEAR school, which basically means you run around evading enemy forces as a downed aviator, and get captured, spend nine days in a POW camp, they test interrogation methods, and torture methods, and they broke several of my fingers, and make you drink motor oil, all while getting a certified college degree to later teach History, sounds like the life of Peter Weller, my brother tells me. But, I am one of 2,000 grads of that school. when I was infantry, I carried the CAR 15, and I preferred it over most other weapons issued, but I'd take a Colt Delta Elite with the ten round oversized mag anyday over most weapons. However, I proably got more use out of my knife with my line of work, than my CAR.

I draw a PPK from the concealed position every Tuesday night, as I just did tonight, and I find it easier to draw than the P99, you also seem to have forgotten that totally concealing and without problem a P99 would mean that the concealer, this being you, would have to be about a 48 to 50 R or short. Are you, because I train two hours daily not counting the one thousand situps that I do each morning to maintain my abdominals and to stay 6 feet tall and 165 pounds. So, for me, and anyone else remotely my size, the P99 sticks out like a gun inside your jacket, because that is what it is, simply, a weapon inside your jacket.

Also, I own the Bersa .380, a FireStorm .380, a Walther PP, a Walther PPk in both 7.65, never really have used that one, and in .380, and a Walther PPKS in .380, which is exactly the same size as the Firestorm .380 in dimension, not missing a militmeter in bullet or physical measurement of size. I'm a little bit of a firearms nut, because the good ole USA lets us keep 'em. I also have a vast collection of military rifles, including four M1 Garands, one was handed down from the WWII vet of my family, an M4, Car-15, MP5, and a M1Carbine, also, my true side holds to Western guns, I have approximately four western handguns and four black powder western handguns, and a couple a rifles that are original and fun to shoot! Anywho, as you can tell, keeping which magazine goes with each weapon in my world of look-alikes can be difficult with Wlathers or any other weapon, and I have several other revolvers, including two hidden in my home for security, my father's Colt Delta elite, which was perfect, but expensive to shoot every Tuesday night. That Delta Elite was my carry gun, and I usually carried one snub .38 in my sock holster, and a crotch gun one-shot derringer as a last defense.

BTW, I wanted to comment that being an educated man from an Ivy Leaue school (I know, the spelling doesn't reflect it, or the usage of the conjunction "doesn't") and have a degree in US History, I think that these are actions of vultures would, and I maybe I was right to have left this forum beofre, I go to the Cornell Club and get better respect from the people their, and they know me, as you all do not, as well as the fact that I have never been around so many people like this who enjoy taking credit in editing someone else's mistakes, I think that I might had leave this forum before this rivals up even more. Am I dealing with intellectuals or not? Because I think of the latter, due to a simple mathematical error in which I don't even use that handugn anymore! I own it, but hardly use it in competition sinceI bought the .380 and that means .380 which I really mean is in fact quite possibly a .380 and no other calibre of possibility, must I write like this from now on, because I won't have it. I can tell you this, I'd much rather be enjoying other things to do like paying the bills and balancing the wifes checque book (which always holds to be fun when she goes shopping at Louis Vuitton, I spelled that meaningful name right, as I have gotten used to writing it out in the book and of the many checques there, and I can assure you that it is indeed spelled correctly, am I getting on your nerves yet, because I could stop, but then so could you have, but you didn't so what makes me want to stopwriting little notions enough to drive you mad, or are you doing what you are always doing and nitpicking this post apart like you have no life, go get some responsibility of some sort, like adopting a child or something, so you can stay the h*ll off my back!) than be talking about this. As if not only every readable thread that I comment on on AJB007 has had to be ended as soon as I mentioned something (I must be a great conversation stopper at the Princeton Department Cocktail parties, have any of you ever been invited to one of those, no, I thought not), the one thread that finally draws out a pinch of attention draws attention of nothing but rudeness and unprolific behaviour in seeing who wants to take form of the king of scholars of useless trivia. I shan't be a part of this....and I doubt I shall return to this forum. The only post that got any atttention of any form would be the member of the month post, good luck finding that one now, as the post have been mysteriously omitted, who would have thought. It's pretty bad when people get sick of your forums because of other posters, other immature posters would would challenge others on errors, because I thought that "once a man admits his mistake he is forgiven of wrongdoing." Guess not with you people. I am out of this forum nd maye, maybe might return at a later date to see if I get the same respect as other posters, but somehow I doubt I will. Good night to those who listened. What can I say everyone, I got really tired of being asked every post if I was serious or crazy or acting stupid for no reason or if I was stupid, it got old. And got tired of those who would simply ignore my post like no one posted. For those to whom this does not apply, I sincerely apologize for any wrongdoing, but to those whom this does apply, maybe you should consider this next time you feel frisky and log in. I hate it had to end this way, but there was no point in rubbing my face in it again.

Typios aside, you guys took a little mistake like calling the 9 short and .380 different cartridges which was a small error written by a hurried professor trying to post and go to teach his next class, so seriously. Jesus, you all must be married, but probably divorced, asI imagine, and don't even bother to answer that as I already can guess. It's pretty bad you guys just muscled me out. Well, you know, it would be wrong of me to say it was fun being here, because if I may speka plainly, it wasn't, constantly arguing with you and other , does 2+2=4, I think you know so, then why can't you chalk up my error as a hurried mistake, because and aparently truthfully, I lead an extremely busy lifestyle, and ridding my life of this forum is twenty more minutes a day of whatr else I could be doing, in which you guys must have no jobs or business and I use that as the term, busy-ness, not a place of professionalism, because that doesn't exist here, but you guys need to go and try to do something the occupies your time, get a hobby, like a sport or something that doesn't involve bashing other posters. Well don't worry, because you won't have to deal with it anymore.

That is the most incoherent diatribe that I have ever read. If you are going to make things up, then you had better be sure that the people you are trying to con have not been there and really done that. You demanded 'right now' to know who had seen service, we answered amicably with no personal attack at all.

The 7.65mm and 9mm debacle you are highlighting, and which you still have not grasped nor understood in the last post, was merely corrected so other people who are not 'gun nuts' would understand and avoid major confusion. You cannot blame people for disagreeing with your later statements, and people being outraged who had actually been on the courses you proffess to have completed with no grasp of what they really entail. Apart from this post, no-one has really picked the posts apart for inaccuracies, and I really am only touching upon a few.

I'm sorry to see you go, your previous posts in other threads have been interesting and informative, but this thread has become downright bizaare. Just goes to show, you can immerse yourself rather too far into your hobby and read too many dodgy books.

And in case other people over 6 ft tall are worried, you really don't need to do 1,000 sit ups to maintain your height....... do you? ?:) :D

This post has gone way off topic and I apologize.

This post has gone way off topic and I apologize.

Special thanks to my private snitch whom informed me that ye again, someone else has elected to ruin another post of mine! THis is beyond the straw that broke the camel's back, I for one cannot believe that you would take a 'go to h*ll" message that furthermore states that I am indeed leaving this forum, and then repond to it! THink before you type, and maybe I should tell myself the very same thing.

I for one elected to turn your negativity into absolute bizzareness with my last post, purposely tempting you to write back, I wanted you to write back, just so I could have the last word, something that I never learned from childhood nearly years and years ago. It's gotten myself into trouble, but having the last word is great.

I will address your idiotic sharade of comments in the best ordr I found them.

First: How dare you for telling me that I conned people into believing that I serving in the military, you twit, from one who served in an elite unit of soldiers to another, I say that you learned nothing from your escapade in the British Armed Services, except how to qustion the honour integrity and past of others. You merely use words "Honour, Courage, and Commitment" as a slogan, or a punchline, I was taught how to use them in everyday life, from serving on a naval carrier, to helping a handicapped man across the street. You use them as a label, a veneer over your rusted unnards. I don't "use" them, I instulled them, I embedded them into me (this is D.S. school speaking) and since you wish to purvey yourself as one who belittled someone whose face you have not seen, that shows a h*ll of a lot about your character, your integrity, and your version of 'honour, courage commitment" or "Honour, Duty, God, Country". I'd just as soon tell you to 'Have a Nice Day" and go on with your luminous holiness which you have dispersed along with the golddust in your hair. Your talking to a Staff Sergeant, soldier, mantain your discipline, if you learned that, a Bronze Star recipient, and a recipient of the Navy Cross, look that one up if you have not heard it. It's sad to see that you take words of my father, his father, and his father, and my whole family lineage of military service, exemplary military service throughout every single American War from the Revolution to Iraq one and two, and you discard them as nothing but bovine excrement. You, sir, have lost any and all value and respect in my book.

Beside from the fact that I do not think that you are 'sorry to see me go', you liar, I think that you cannot appreciate or value my posts or the knowledge that I have been instlled with, you could learn nothing from me, and I would just as soon never instruct you, because the molecules of oxygen from the atmosphere blending with my lungs is not work the natural scientific work to bother with, nor the grub in my stomach to form ATP to give me the energy to talk to you. Now you see the difference in $20,00+ dollars a semester to Ivy League education.

Secondly, your smat comment on six feet tall sit ups, you friggin moron, the sit ups are for your abdominal muscles, it doesn't inprove your height! The reason I wroe my hieght on their is to signify my body shape and mass, but not to expand my cranium. Doing a thousand sit ups is to build the muscles, the display of height to weight mseasurements, and you'd know this if you played any form of sports, is to give the reader an ideal body size, in which, should give you an accurate image, next time do I need to write a 42 Long sized man, or do you get that one?

Your comment on No one picked me posts apart, 'where have you been???" Do a search for my posts and read them, they have either mysteriously omitted themselves, or have been vulturized! Just goes to shw YOU, that you are not an individual whom views holistically to the words in front of you.

Your'e right, my posts were informative, and they would still be, I just cannot stand the fact that people, the toothless masses, decide to take an intellectual post written with honest, earnestness, and truth and deficate on it.

Also, your idea of 'reading too many books', well my friend, since you and your cohorts are this way, let me inform you that the only books I read are the ones that I have published for my Doctorate, other than that, I'm too busy reading essays from students and having nineteen year old kids ask me to write them letters of recommendation to toher institutions, so, reading much doesn't really happen with me, as I spend the time teaching, not screwing off by reading BS on some thread aobut 'whats ur choice' BTW, where is the rest of the word in 'ur'?" Just a thought.

And this comment: "You cannot blame people for disagreeing with your later statements, and people being outraged who had actually been on the courses you proffess to have completed with no grasp of what they really entail." I can blame people for disagreeing with my statements, becuase they ar mine, that is called opinon, I think that was taught to me in prep school. And the comment of the 'courses I profess,' what, are you one of my students or something, did I fail you last semester, or your son, God forbid? Bear in mind you are talking to someone whom specializes in one thing, US HIstory, so be a little more colourful, will you?

I don't see how you never noticed my posts being shredded to pieces, cut down like an overdue lawn. You obviously can't grasp subliminal usage of wording, did you sleep through your English transliteration course, maybe, but with the actual audacity it took to acuse me not not giving BST (for those of you who do not know this term, Ranger lingo for "BLOOD, SWEAT, and TEARS", maybe with your acusations of my 'conning you' could have been because youslept through Ethics class. BTW, your usage of the 'incoherent diatribe', I commend you on that, because I got a little kick out of that, but you, sir, don't see service as a fraterinty, but as an excuse to walller around in your own filth, layering yourself in feces, talking about weapons, not guns, you should have learned that soldier boy, weapons in which you probably cannot afford, nor do not have. And gun nuts, probably would not be on this thread anyways, genius!

OK you are a former Ranger Staff Sgt who has served on a carrier and has won the Bronze Star and the Navy Cross one question where were the Rangers formed and when? Oh and no Navy Crosses have been awarded to army personnel since one awarded in Vietnam if this is the one I take it you are Kenneth Ledford Jr. .

    Ledford, Kenneth, Jr.
    First Lieutenant, U.S. Army
58th Medical Bn., Force Logistics Command
Date of Action: September 15, 1970

    Citation:
The Navy Cross is awarded to First Lieutenant Kenneth Ledford, Jr., United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 15 September 1970 while serving with the 58th Medical Battalion, United States Army, engaged in armed conflict against enemy forces in the Republic of Vietnam. While flying as a medical evacuation pilot and aircraft commander of a rescue helicopter, First Lieutenant Ledford was attempting to extract six seriously wounded personnel from a landing zone when he came under heavy enemy small-arms and automatic-weapons fire. Forced to depart the area, he subsequently enlisted the aid of four Navy helicopters and returned to the scene for another rescue attempt. As the aircraft were making their descent into the zone, they came under intense small-arms, automatic-weapons, and .51 caliber fire. Two of First Lieutenant Ledford's cover ships were shot down, a third gunship was disabled, and a fourth was seriously damaged. Instantly, First Lieutenant Ledford went to the rescue of the crew of one of these aircraft which had autorotated into a lake. Despite intense enemy fire from several positions as he neared the stricken aircraft, he succeeded in rescuing the downed crew. Once airborne he enlisted the aid of the remaining attack helicopter to cover him while he attempted to extract the dead and wounded from the second downed aircraft. As he approached the wreckage, again coming under a hail of small-arms and automatic-weapons fire, he landed and at great personal risk held his position while his crew made two time-consuming extractions of the wounded men. As the extraction was completed, he took off through the continuing barrage of enemy bullets and impacting mortar rounds. First Lieutenant Ledford's professionalism, courage under fire, and inspiring dedication to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Armed Forces.

Ouch, I think he's got you beat. Damn, sniper, you're good.

By the way, I learned about cell respiration and ATP in my 9th grade class last year, not in an Ivy League college.

Hey Nightie, it seems Mr Jones has hung himself with his own BS and word mongering, if you can call it that. The more he writes, the bigger the hole he digs for himself. You could almost have half believed him before, but after the last post, you'd be hard pressed to believe he'd shot a BB gun let alone a 7.65... or is that a 10mm..... damn these faeces I layer myself with, always obscuring my vision :s

Lets hope so eh. He's already given out more information than a real 'serviceman' would give. Although the vast amount of inaccuracies in that information could be classed as disinformation. Best just to leave him alone to the fantasies that reside within.

just thought of the 'sock holster' quote, got the giggles now :))

I just wish we could get to page five so I don't have to scroll down through that barrage of bamboozlement anymore.

Ten round mag, plus one. Comes in three tasty varieties: Double Action, DA Only and Quick Action, which is basically a consistant pull.
