Interesting that the North American and British markets open on the same day. Who will get the Premiere? I want it back in its rightful place, Leicester Square, London.

It's fascinating to see that Casino Royale will be released in countries like the Philippines, Bahrain and Egypt a couple of days before the US & UK.

With a reboot, the casting of Craig, no Moneypenny , who knows what in store ?? Leicester Square? No chance. My money is on Puerto Rico ;)

GoldenEye was another "reboot", and that premiered in the USA. So nothing's certain. The other complication is if Harry Potter 5 has already booked up the Odeon Leicester Square, which stopped DAD from premiering there. Like Lady Rose says, it could be anywhere!

Ok I just want to ask you all to step out of this conversation and look at the bigger picture for a moment. Don't you see how childish this is?!

We are all here because we are Bond fans, because we have a passion for something and we want to share that and talk about it with each other. Are we really going to let the Bond community be split down the middle into the "Purists" and the "Non-Conformists"? Do we take this passion as seriously as a religious faith or something?

How can we possibly expect every one of the 4673 members to have the same views on it all? It just isn't possible, so surely we should endulge ourselves in each others differences, enjoy the fact that we can come here and be a community because of the one thing we all have in common, but also because of the differences within that common feature!

To the purists: Please don't go on about how bad Casino Royale is, or how bad Craig is for the role before either have even had a chance. Please embrace them both as you have every last Bond film and actor, then once you have seen it form a reasonable opinion...

To the non-conformists: Accept that some people won't want Craig as Bond, remember that you probably dislike at least one Bond film and understand that it's probably someone's favourite.Don't feel you have to slate off Pierce Brosnan in order to put accross you point...

and please, everyone, just calm down a bit!

Now to my question: Why aren't they releasing CR in 2007 as planned (you know, 2 007)

    Sorry for the lecture,

But that's what I'm doing! I love Craig just as much as I love Pierce, and I rank Casino Royale on the level of GoldenEye. ;) :p

    Good then!

I have to say the news that CR will be released a year earlier than I thought is rather pleasing!

If the release date remains unchanged, when do you suppose the first trailers will hit the screens?
Has anyone taken notice of this for movies past? What is the usual procedure and timeframe?

    Topic Cleared

This topic has been cleared of the Daniel Craig comments and generally disgusting posts. We as moderators expect a little more decency when posting. Please stay on topic. This topic is about the release dates for Casino Royale. Not who is Bond, why everyone hates him, without giving him a chance etc etc.

Please continue the discussion about the release dates of Casino Royale. Also read Jedi M's post. I stand behind his sentiment 100%.

The Sunday Herald Sun (a prominent Melbourne based newspaper) has stated that Casino Royale is to be released here in Australia on Thursday December 7th, one week earlier than first reported.

MI6 are reporting that the UK release date has been brought forward by one day, making it a general release on the 16th November.

So that's the Royal premiere on the 14th, UK regional premieres on the 15th and general UK release on the 16th (a Thursday).

I am very annoyed about this. I booked a day off for the afternoon showing of CR on the 17th November last year. Now they've shifted it to the 16th, when I can't get time off, so I am going to have to sit in my office knowing that people are watching Casino Royale without me. Horrific.

God yeah; jetset, why this wasn't the first thing that entered into your head I don't know. Perhaps that officially makes you a weirdo... ;)

Just to pee you off even further, I'm being sent a booking form for the "regional" Scottish premiere in Glasgow on the 15th, so that's a whole 48 hours before you get to see it :D

Dont listen to them jetset! Moonie is just showing off :p If its any consolation I wont be able to see it straight away either. I will probably have to wait a good 4 or 5 days after its release to see it myself because of work ... so I am going to have to avoid AJB like the plague around that time :(

I will not be able to see CR on opening day. I will have to wait until the Satuday night of the week that it is released (it gets released on a Thursday in Australia.) However, unlike some of the above posters, in my case it is entirely a matter of choice. ;) I deliberately never see films on opening day, no matter how much I look forward to them. An example is The Departed, the new film from my favourite director Martin Scorsese. I will be seeing it on the Saturday night of the week that it is released, which is what I'll also do for Eastwood's new film Flag of Our Fathers and also, of course, CR.

I find it to be more special seeing films on a Saturday night rather than a Thursday afternoon or evening. I also like to avoid the immediate rush of people who see the film on opening day. But also I am no longer competitive when it comes to 'how much of a fan I am.' I'm willing to wait a few days in order to have an incredible experience rather than rush out on opening day simply to prove some silly point. ;)

Guys, you're fighting, disscusing about a day... a day... a day....

    one single day....

ok, maybe it will open the 16th and no one day later, maybe you'll say "crap man, somebody saw it first"....

I balieve in one or two days early piracy will help the enthusiast...

i, like the people in Asutralia, will wait 'till December, like 22 days later...

and yes... i am extremely annoyed because the ONLY CHANCE IN A TOUSAND YEARS WILL BE LOST (the year 007) perhaps no in Italy and Japan

a thursday isnt the best day to open, but the do it because the "weekend is bigger", if it doesn't make a lot of money compared with DAD and the movies released this year....

i just don't wanna think it will happen

    P.D. Thanks for keeping this topic clean.. thast why i like this forum -{
