I heard this soundtrack yesterday, well the 30 second clips at least and I'm very happy to say that I think I am just about lookin foward to the soundtrack now as much as the movie itself!!!
David Arnold, for me has been very inconistent with his Bond movies so far, sometimes delivering and sometimes getting it completely wrong. I think I would have preferred Die Another day without the techno drum machine thing behind every song.

However Arnold does have a Barry-like ear for music, and when it comes down to it knows what a Bond sound is, and this is clealr y evident in the teaser clips they have given us.
I was confused when I first heard the title track by Chris Cornell as to what they were trying do do with the film musically, but hearing those orchestrated themes of the song made me see. From what Ive heard so far, its up there with some of the finest bond themes and that is no easy task when you have a Barry-catalogue to compete with.

Some of the what seem to be establishing tracks sound like something out of a Sean Connery movie, listen to 'Solange'.
Ever since Wilson and Broccoli took over, for me the series has been getting worse and worse. There ar still things I love about the last few movies, but things such as techno music, stupid over the top gagets, poor Bond girls (sorry Halle and Denise), CGI technology etc etc. Even Brosnan looked to be getting tired of the role.
I think the producers have realised the best thing about Bond movies is the classiness, the tradional feel, and ultimately that Bond is a flawed character detective with a licence to Kill, he is not a cliff hanging Superman.
Well done to the producers for not trying to compete this time with contemporary action films. They could never have made movies like DAD over and over again because the series would just not continue, that is why films like XXX and Tomb raider have failed to continue, because of their reliance on CGI, poor storytelling, weak charcters, the MTV style editing they use etc, and Bond seemed to get caught up in that last time round. what the producers have done in going back to basics is give me the impression that in 2046 well all be on here talking about which of the 40 bond movies is the best!

The clips sound amazing,it looks like there will be just the right mix of romance and tragedy which of course is crucial to the film.
