The loves of 007's life

Who do you think out of all of the Bond girls (good & bad) 007 has truly loved? I mean hands down no questions asked he had fallen deeply in love with them? In my opinion there has been only three.
OHMSS - Tracy - well this one's a no brainer :)
TWINE - Elektra - while others may disagree with me on this one, I think if you watch closely in TWINE Bond does truly begin to develop of love for Elektra, more than just a sympathy for her "kidnapping" but a true love he begins to fell. One prime piece of evidence for this is I believe when he kills her, and there's a split second when you can see the hurt and betrayal in his eyes.
CR - Vesper - probably another gimme but definately an undeniable love - I mean after all, it could be argued that she was the first and before Bond ever dreamed of Tracy, he was planning on marrying Vesper.
I realize if we get into the novels there were probably be considerably more women, as I can remember it seemed to me like every other adventure Ian Fleming penned Bond had allusions of running off and quiting his work for some girl.

He falls for Tiffany Case in/between DAF and FRWL in the novels. Bond says that he could have married her. You could also argue that he falls for Kissy Suzuki in YOLT, although really, she takes advantage of his amnesia. He did, though, father a child by her. I would also say that something does sort of develop between first, he and Aki, and then secondly, he and Kissy in the film YOLT. (He did, after all, "marry" Kissy)

I think you're on target with Elektra. You could see it when he first looked at her at King's funeral, when he watched her videos on the computuer, and in the Casino. ("Elektra, this is a game I can't afford to play.")

One more I would add is Pam Bouvier in LTK. I think something definitely develops between Bond and her: watch the boat scene and the pool scene at the end. Those aren't your typical Bond and girl interactions, and the relationship is very remniscent of the types of relationships he had in the novels and actualy would have served as a fitting resolution to Bond's career.

Ahh, yes, i'd forgotten about Pam - they definately put more into their relationship than they had put in others. And the song at the end definately helped set the mood.

Definitely Tracy and Paris Carver (TND).

The chemistry between Pierce Brosnan and Teri Hatcher was clearly evident (given Bond and Paris were old lovers), and Bond clearly felt pain at the loss of Paris.

When Bond visits Elektra in TWINE and she asks him if he had lost someone important to him, it made the scene larger than life.

Paris sucks. I know that Natalya and Bond may have been in love, as evidenced by the beach scene. They seemed like they had a genuine care and affection for each other, unlike many other Bond girls.

Well what about Daniela in FRWL,or Maud In Octopussy,or Carole in FYEO

Based on the cinema only, I would rank these women, in order, as the ones Bond would most likely have settled down with:
    1. Tracy
    2. Vesper
    3. Melina

No one else even makes the list. I disagree about Elektra. To me, she's a reckless fling, Brosnan's over-emoting notwithstanding.

    Cinema only -

    Tracey
    Vesper
    Pam Bouvier

Don't think he fell for Elektra and I definatly don't see Melina.

I actually do. Electra is the kind of woman that Fleming Bond is actually attracted to - a girl with a tragic history. He's compasionate of her, at first, but he falls for her afterwards. His killing her is merely his sheer profesionalism. He's actually hurt to kill her. As far as I'm concerned, if Brosnan said in TWINE "the bitch is dead", I wouldn't wonder - she actually was one.

I believe Tracy, Pam Douvier and Electra were Bond's greatest loves in the old continuity, and Vesper in the new continuity starting with CR. But I'd like to add one more, maybe unlikely one, but nevertheless a deserving mention, IMO: Maryam D'Abo (spell?) as Kara Milovy. I believe Bond actually loved her. I really believe that.

    What do you think?

I would go for Kara over Pam actually. I thought their chemistry in TLD was excellent, even though he was a little exasperated at times.

I would also go for Natalya ,Tracy and Vesper. I dont think Roger ever fell for anyone.

When it comes to the eras, I'd have to say of all Connery's films he fell most for Tatiana (FRWL), Moore films probably Octopussy, Dalton films definately Kara over Pam and it's hard to say when it comes to the Brosnan films, but I still stand pretty strong on him loving Elektra.

Of course, if you wanted to nitpick you could argue that there's at least one scene in each film that develops at least a semi strong relationship between Bond and the current Bond girl - it's just that some have a lot more than others. IMHO I find that I love the films that develop relationships and show Bond's character getting hurt - to get to see him bleed physically and emotionally. But i think when it comes to the general audience people don't like to see Bond fall in love. All of my friends and neighbors I've talked to who have sen CR have all said they wished it wouldn't have gooten so heavy into the love story.

Moore probably would have had Octopussy, but he seemed like he was more of a friend relationship with both Melina and Stacey. Bond would've settled down with Tracey and if Vesper wasn't a meanie, her too, but now I will do era specific people he'd settle down with.

Sean Connery - Domino (Petachi or Derval, as he ended up living with Petachi at the end of NSNA)

George Lazenby - Tracy (Well, duh!)

Roger Moore - Octopussy (She was closer to his age than the others, plus the women he was with were either too young, idiots, or fiercely independent)

Timothy Dalton - Hmm... (I could not see Bond and Kara OR Bond and Pam because Pam would move on after awhile and Kara was well, annoying)

Pierce Brosnan - Natalya Simonova (A real Bond girl that isn't a kung-fu master or American action hero that had visible and realistic weaknesses, knew how to connect with Bond and was hot as hell.

Easy....Tracy, Vesper, & Aki. No question, in the films those were the only true loves..in that order.

Fiona Volpe: Some men don't like to be driven.

Bond: No, some men don't like to be taken for a ride.

I'm sorry, but I'm a bit confused - Tracy (OHMSS) Vesper (CR) and Aki (YOLT) - I believe he loved those women, but er, not in that order. . .
