That's peace, TC. Someone mentioned this on the site earlier, so it's good to be confirmed. Though McClory is often derided by some fans, his contribution to the series is invaluable. RIP.

How sad, though people disliked him for the whole Thunderball debacle, I was a big fan of "Never Say Never Again" and I was truly hoping for another shot at it (just to see how it would be, it would also be nice to see Brosnan do it one more time).

Still, the man was an integral part of the Bond franchise, and without him, we probably wouldn't have Xenia Onatopp. We also wouldn't see Barbara Carrera either in that oh-so-lovely role of Fatima Blush.

    R.I.P Mr. McClory

Who is going to own the rights to Spectre and Blofeld? McClory's kids? Or is Eon going to pursue them?

That depends who owned them while he was alive. If he did, than they are part of his estate and its whoever he left them to in his will.

However, I believe in EON's attempt to grab all Bond properties (CR) during the late 90s may meen that it is now, and has been EON property.

Could you please explain what Kevin McClory has to do with Xenia Onatopp?

Sad, I really appreaciated his contribution to the bond series. Even though most people (mainstream bond fans) disliked Never Say Never Again, I think it was very interesting how much contorversy he started. I really respected him.

    Rest In Peace,
    PB

Fatima Blush is, in essence, the inspiration for the character of Xenia Zaragevna Onatopp. And I too love NSNA, and he is and always will be remembered in the Bond series.

I, too, enjoyed NSNA far more than the vast majority of my friends on these boards; to me, Sir Sean's geezer turn in the role was far more engaging than any of the other old-timer's too-numerous geriatric entries....

The news of Mr. McClory's passing saddens me...and yet my very next instinct is to ask: who now owns the rights to TB/SPECTRE/Blofeld? And can he/she/they be reasoned with?

Not many people can truly claim to have had an impact on James Bond. McClory can. RIP.

Kevin McClory was one of the most infamous people in the world of James Bond; but I always truly admired him - he must have had a real passion for Bond, to fight for 40 years for the right to make his own James Bond film. More passion than the producers we have at the moment, at any rate. I had, in many ways, hoped to see him get his way and make another unofficial Bond - to see if he could get EON off their arses.

Though somewhat reclusive, I'm sure Kevin McClory was a great man, and he certainly has carved out his own unique place in the world of James Bond. May he rest in peace.
