YOLT Crew Almost Killed?

I was visiting IMDB for YOLT : a side story is that after movie wrapped, the main production team (producers and director) were about to leave for their flight home. They were invited to a function by the Japanese officials, so they postponed their flight. The plane went down with all aboard. I've never heard this. Is it an urban rumour?

The version I've heard is that it took place during pre production while the producers etc. were location scouting or something like that. it is a true story, watch 'Inside YOLT' on the YOLT DVD.

Hmm, I actually heard something slightly similar about the crew scouting locations for LTK. I believe they thought of setting it in Iran and it was a humorous story about how they saw some director's movie and loved the setting and while scouting the location there was a strong wind and someone mentioned something like,
"So how did the director die?"
and apparently the responce was "He had a plaecrash around these parts."

Hmm, I distinctly remember seeing this in a documentary on some Bond movie. Someone tell me I'm not just pulling it out of nowhere.
