James Bond: The Secret World of 007

Being a fan of James Bond I stumbled upon some books that would come in very helpful. One is called James Bond: The Secret World of 007 and is published by Dorling Kindersley. Now when I was younger I could remember buying a Star Wars book which had cross diagrams and all, making it show you the insides of ships and gadgets like lightsabers. I was wondering if the James Bond one is like that or is it more for an audience of a younger audience?

This book is indeed very well made and I recommend it for everyone! The image are well made, but few mentions to the real actors. That's too bad. The french version of this book is awful. That's why I can't stand the movies in french, the real version, even if the early Bond movies were dubbed is much, much better. Except for AVTAK...

I have the White cover version of this book, but I have seen a Red cover version is also available.
Does anyone know what differences there are (if any) between the two?

This was the first book about Bond I ever got. I do think it is very good. While I think it is aimed at kids, all Bond movie fans would enjoy it.
I also heard somewhere that there will be an updated edition including CR. I can't confirm this though. Maybe someone else has more info.

    I have both versions.

The red cover version is the UK edition whilst the white is the US edition. Apart from the cover - and the US one is by far the better - there is no difference between the two.

I've recently bought the updated edition of this book which now includes Die Another Day and (a preview of) Casino Royale. I absolutely love it - a very easy book to dip in and out of, loads of photos, diagrams, facts and figures all presented in encyclopaedic format.

A real delight and definitely recommended.

    Cheers,

    Mark

I was a little disappointed at the limited coverage given to Casino Royale. It's almost as if the single spread was pasted on just so that they could tie it in with the film's release but they didn't put much effort into it. It's crying out for more detail like TWINE and DAD. Even if we had to wait an extra few months it would be a much better result.

Oh well, we can't have it all!!

The Casino Royale coverage in the updated edition leaves alot to be desired. There are two pages I believe, and pretty much no new info (at the time it was released).

Still, it's not a bad book.

I must be in the minority as I got this book for xmas and thought it was awful. I found it very childish and did not find anything of interest in it.

I also got "The Art Of Bond" and thought this was brill, it was very informative and included loads about CR as well, would recommend this book instead!
