Hi everyone! Just got done watching the DVD of The Spy Who Loved Me tonight. I hadn't seen it in 20 years, but wow was I impressed! I think this is one of the best of the Bonds. Cubby Broccoli & Co. really showed their creative talents in this one: a terrific storyline, Roger Moore never looked better, a great villain with Curt Jurgens, and Richard Kiel as Jaws. Also one of the best title songs ever in the Bond films.

However, as to the title of my post. One of the great things about DVDs is the extra features available. I was flipping through the various soundtracks, and noticed on the French-dubbed track that it sure sounds like Curt Jurgens did the French dubbing for the part of Stromberg. Usually for the foreign language version of a movie, they bring in some other actor to do the dubbing. If it is actually Jurgens doing the French soundtrack, then he not only is a great actor in English but also in French as well! Has anyone else happened to listen to the track on the DVD for TSWLM and thought that it was Jurgens doing the French voice of Stromberg?

You could be right. Apparently Jurgens was an extremely well read and intelligent man who spoke many different languages.

It's certainly him speaking in the German version Der Spion, Der Mich Liebte. As stated above, Jurgens spoke, acted and wrote books in several languages.
