Craig Wants Seymour

Seems like a half-cocked idea? And a half-cocked article?

CRAIG WANTS SEYMOUR AS BOND GIRL

http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/craig%20wants%20seymour%20as%20bond%20girl_1022760

New 007 star DANIEL CRAIG wants veteran Bond girl JANE SEYMOUR to feature in the next instalment of the spy series - as his love interest. Seymour, 57, starred opposite ROGER MOORE in 1973's LIVE AND LET DIE, and Craig is petitioning movie bosses to bring her back for his follow-up to last year's (06) CASINO ROYALE. He says, "Casino Royale was about early Bond and I love the idea of him revisiting his past and meeting up with ex-loves. "That has to include Jane Seymour. I'm a huge fan, I thought she was fantastic."

It's the former, if he really did say that; but I suspect it's the later.

    It doesn't make sense.

God help me, but I'm about to bring up something I really hate: the idea of "continuity" between the old and new Bond films. But I think that according to the space-time theories of those that have studied these questions, Craig's Bond would have met Seymour after the events of CR. So how could he revisit her?

Besides, at 57, Jane is far too old to play Craig's love interest. But if she's looking for a boy toy, I'm 52. And I thought she was hot in Wedding Crashers. Far hotter than her younger co-stars.

Oh I can see the debates on AJB now..."How could Solitaire be a virgin in LALD when she was with Craig in Bond22?"

And we thought the Judi Dench thing was tough to figure out :s

I wonder if Craig is again having some fun with the press, sort of on the lines of his "it's time for Bond to have a gay sex scene" comment. But I can just imagine what the certain website that now has a forum will do with this. . .

    She could play Solitaire's mom!

Judi Dench is still hard to figure out, my brain is still wracking.

Actually, considering Kananga says that he knew Solitaire's mother, and she gave her powers away at the wrong time by having sex with someone... Oh my God! Crypto incest alert!!!

I imagine he's having them on a bit...and good for him.

    However :v ...

Anyone who saw her season-long arc in 'Smallville' knows she's an excellent potential villainess...that would be interesting, IMRO.

HH, you haven't seen 'The Mother.' Craig's love interest in that was well into her 60's. I don't think getting it on with a fiftysomething would hold back Craig. :D However, his Bond meeting Seymour's Solitaire would be mad. First thing she would say is why are you so young? I just don't think it would feel right.

I saw "The Mother." Not to disparage the lady in that film, she's no Jane Seymour. When Jane dropped her top in "Wedding Crashers" and suggested Vince Vaughn check out her boob job, I think I actually reached toward the screen. :))

    Edit by HH:

Or was it Owen Wilson? I forget. But then again I wasn't paying much attention to the other actor in the scene. :D

    Yeah it was Owen. :p

Since Craig looks so much older than his age, and Jane looks considerably younger than hers...maybe it could work. ;)

We would all like to see more of Seymour but as one of Craig's love interests in Bond 22? No thanks, not for me.

I still say make Jane Seymour the villain of the piece---or at least a high-class assassin. I think there are sparks to be struck between her and Craig...then he'd get to kill her... :v

I could go for that -- She's have to be a super-villainess to get past the Continuity Police. Just so long as they don't make her campy.
There's a story circulating that Halle Berry wants to do another Bond with Craig.

Seymour, Berry 'n' Bond. Sounds like a Ben & Jerry's flavor. Make mine a big bowl -- but hold the Bond. :007)

I don't think it is such a bad idea. If Joe Don Baker can play two parts, why can't Jane Seymour? I think Craig and her would have great chemistry.

Doesn't seem like a bad idea . . . if she plays another character.

Not ideal, but not a bad idea either. We all know that continuity has far from been adhered to. I thought it might be a real problem in CR, but that did not turn out to be the case. I adore Maud Adams in both her roles so why not Jane Seymour, who as Solitaire is one of my favourite Bond girls.
