It's a stupid question,yes, but, when you pronounce Le Chiffre, is it Le Sheef or do you use the r...just wondering aue I can't understand it in the movie because of the accents.

Well, because it's a French term, it's kind of hard for us English-speaking folk, because we don't have that throaty "r" sound. If you heard it properly pronounced in French, it would be "le sheef" followed by a short, throaty "r". In English, words like that tend to lose the "r" -- so we often say "le sheef" rather than "le sheef-ra". Kind of the same as calling the museum the "loov" rather than the "loov-ra".

I'd leave out the "r" altogether, it would be closer to the French version. I wish the Judi scene in the Bahamas had talk explaining his name, add some more time to a great scene between two great actors.
