Anyone catch this? (opening credits)

I was watching CR over a friend's place last night, and somehow, through the fog of smoke and stink of booze,I noticed something: In the opening credits, a crosshair moves across the screen, and when it passes by the queen card, it reveals Vesper's face where the queen's face should be.

    I'd be suprised if anybody missed that the first time around, although it did take the second viewing for me to see that the initials C and R are spelt in the trail of blood in the opening credits.

    In the movie theathers, that was the first thing I've noticed, at the time, I didn't know that was Vesper. The second time I watched it , I realized it was Vesper

    yea, the second time I saw it, I groaned and went "awww how cliche"...to be honest, it was kind of silly. And I never noticed the CR in the blood...sweet, now I have something else to look for!

    I thought that glimpse of Vesper in the credits was pretty cool, actually...a buddy I was with for the first viewing also got a kick out of it. We both nodded---and grinned hugely---when we saw it.

    Me, too. Didn't see it as a cliche at all.

    Also liked Craig's cowlick, which reinforced his whole I-don't-give-a-s**t attitude. Even with the absence of naked, sihlouetted girls (now, that's a cliche), it was one of the better credits sequences in many years.

    I recognized Vesper immediately in the title sequence as I had seen plenty of trailers and screen shots prior to the release of the film. I had not noticed the spelling of "CR" in the blood however.

    All in all I loved the title sequence. I loved the use of card suits, roulette wheels, and the general theme of red vs. black (also a card reference). The glimpse of Vesper over the two-faced Queen was very clever and symbolic. I loved how two shots were fired into the 7 of hearts to reveal Bond's 00' number. Lastly, I loved the approaching silhouette at the end which is revealed as Daniel Craig himself looking outstanding. All this of course set to Chris Cornell's rockin' "You Know My Name."

    Despite the absence of curvy female silhouettes, there was much to love about the CR title sequence.

    For me this really ruined the opening credits. I felt it was too 'in-your-face' ...kinda like Lazenby's "other fella" comment.

    I did enjoy the absence of silhouetted women. I know that sounds a little strange coming from a guy, but what I mean to say is that it is more consistent with the idea that there are no women in Bond's life at this point.

    Calm down, La Curandera. It is a pretty obvious feature of the title sequence, so I don't think you should be surprised to get such reactions. (There's also an earlier one in this thread.) Peace.

    meh, It's only a word. words only hurt and offend if you let them... But enough of the semantics, let's all get back to being geeeky about 007.

    Well, I'm not exactly sure that's what the filmmakers had in mind. To me it seemed like they were trying to hard to say "This is Bond."
    I don't have anything against Craig, but too much of the film seemed like a love affair with Bond (the opening mug shot, the rising out of the water bit, the self-centric "You know my name" title song). I felt when other actors played up the fact that they were Bond, it made the character less believable to me. I mentioned Lazenby's famous 'other fella', but I also tend to cringe with Brosnan's first uttering of the 'Bond, James Bond' line...it seemed unnatural. These things take me out of the film an lessen my enjoyment.

    I believe that if you look more closly you will notice that her face appears on the Queen of hearts (as the top half) but on the bottom half of the same card is the Queen of Spades, forshadowing her betrayel of Bond.

    I thought that the titles sequence is one of the best yet. I just love the whole cards theme and the slightly retro feel about it. The song was brilliant and I loved the little touches like Vesper's face and the 007 morphing into a computer screen. Perfect. More like that I say.

    I was re-watching Casino Royale two days ago and noticed in the opening titles a brief monument of one of the Bond girls? It’s a good opening.-{
