Re: Did anyone get who they wished for in CR?

Not a soul.

I wanted Gerard Butler as Bond, either Ben Kingsley or Brian Cox as LeChiffre, Jean Reno as Mathis, Rose Byrne as Vesper, Geoffrey Palmer as M .... I could go on

Still, I loved CR and thought everyone was excellent, so it was a good job the producers didn't listen to me.

Re: Did anyone get who they wished for in CR?

If I have learned anything from the 007 films it is never jump the gun on casting decisions! I am ashamed to admit when Mr Craig was announced as the new Bond on the Thames publicity routine, I was not impressed. (I was in a public place, so I could see, not hear.) As far as I am concerned he is the best 007 yet, one I can relate to on some levels.  - No offense to the other actors.

What else has Eva Green done? She was amazing as Vesper.

This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Well, as we've been discussing in this thread, you can see all but Eva's tonsils in Bernardo Bertelluci's The Dreamers; and she was also the female lead in Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven.

Surely
Everyone
As well as me
Never wanted any other bond than a

Certain
Once unknown
Now world famous but
Nearly retired quite
Elderly not unfamiliar to the
Role of bond
You can guess who I mean

Well.......

To mention,

My choice to

That would have been my
Ideal as well, Sir
Miles. Sir Sean, much as I love him, is too
Old
These days.
However,
You may say, with Bond

Dates are sometimes, or
Always best
Left ignored.
To conclude, this is
Only a bit of fun.
Not to be taken too seriously! ajb007/biggrin

Granted he might be  a bit old but
Everyone knows that the
Rolling Stones are not exactly young either. ajb007/biggrin

Must it really be pointed out that there is
Only
One Bond whom I truly adore but since he has
Resigned from acting then perhaps everyone can give an
Englishman the benefit of the doubt! ajb007/biggrin

What is happening at AJB?
For all the responses

But stranger
still, it appears,
that the notorious Dan Same
is finally,
willing to give Daniel
Craig a chance.

For blonde Bond is clearly
the Englishman to
whom Dan refers. ajb007/biggrin

Perhaps you're right. Afterall
It is known by
Everyone that Craig is as old as the
Rolling Stones.
Can I just say that a certain Irishman should still not be
Eliminated from contention?

But I still say that
Rather than launch an

Sunny optimism should have ruled the day as
Not only was the then-007 still
A force to be reckoned with but he was a fan of the novel

(I had no idea that Craig fit my description so well ajb007/lol)

Re: Did anyone get who they wished for in CR?

I thought Clive Owen would make a fine Bond and I've heard that he was offered a chance at the role but turned it down.  Hugh Jackman was my first choice and then Ioan Gruffud.  I was glad they retained Judi Dench as M.  I wanted Kate Beckinsale for Vesper and I thought that
Phillip Seymour Hoffman would have made a brilliant LeChiffre.  As for Felix Sam Rockwell would have been great.  Mathis is a bit tougher to cast but I think Jean Reno would have been a good choice.
Still I'm happy with the way things turned out.
No complaints here.  At least for now.;)
