Vesper's boyfriend?

What do you think will be made of this character?
I personally feel he should be somewhat similiar to Bond, I know we have all seen the sophisticated villain numerous times, I think this would be well suited for this character, but some feel he should be somewhat of an average joe, in which he turns psychotic when he finds out Vesper is dead, and begins a life of crime. I believe a worthy advisary type character would make a great story for Bond 22. What are your thoughts?

Vesper's boyfriend, A French Algerian was kidnapped by "the organization" behind LeChiffre.
He was held as a hostage, under threat of death in order to secure Vesper's co-operation.

Therefore he should not be a spy or a villain or anything else connected to the secret world, just an unlucky fellow like Bond who happened to fall in love with the very unlucky Ms. Lynd of Her Majesty's Treasury.

His body should be found floating face down in the Thames River. Another innocent victim of the Evil Bond is out to destory. The rest of his and Vesper's story should be left to our imaginations.

I think that Vesper's boyfriend should actually be a low level operative of "the organization". Vesper should have been misled into believing that he was kidnapped. Bond should coldly take his revenge on him early in the film while tracking down the real power behind "the organization". It will give the filmmakers more of a chance to show off the grittier side of Bond that in so en vogue now.

I too have often thought that Vesper's boyfriend was a member of the "organization". His becoming Vesper's boyfriend was no accident either. The whole thing was a set up. The kidnapping story was just a ruse to get Vesper's buy in to think she was stealing the treasurys' money for a worthwhile cause.

If that is in fact true, her ex-boyfriend would have to be an incredibly suave, sophisticated man. Also, if this is the case and Bond finds out that because of her boyfriend's con-job that Vesper wound up losing her life it will be great to watch 007 avenge her death. Not sure you'd want to make an entire movie out of that tidbit, but it would make for a great PTS.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Vesper's boyfriend ends up as the main villain of #22 (played by none other than Goran Visnjic)---though he's not the head of the 'Organization;' we won't see him until #23...This guy will be higher up than Le Chiffre, but still 'middle management,' so to speak...

Sorry, bad phrasing on my part. We won't see the actual leader of the 'Organization' until #23. Vesper's boyfriend would be the focus of #22; different people.

Of course, we're not sure of anything; I'm just guessing...and assuming that this nebulous 'organization' is the evil force opposing Bond during the entirety of the Craig Era---or at least, the initial three-picture arc
