Topic: Daniel Craig's Haircut In Casino Royale? Any Help is Welcome!

Ok so this maybe an odd question, but I am curious if anyone knows what the name of the haircut style Craig got for Casino Royale? I would prefer specifics on hair length, size of comb attachment (1,2,3 etc), where it was used, etc.

The reason for this is well... I want to try that haircut out on me, but every person that cuts it seems to make my head look like a basketball (which is a little more then embrassing).

Would someone please be willing to help me with this odd request? Or at least point me to a celebrity hairstyles site or something!

Thanks,
Blue

I can't tell you the specifics, but I just bring in pictures of Dan Craig in Casino Royale when I go in for my haircut, and it works great for me.

I have tried it with no luck. I really want to get some specifics. If you know what your haircut was, please let me know what exactly the barber did. I would also like to see a picture if the board doesn't mind ajb007/smile

Just ask for a crewcut, although in this day and age, your "stylist" is liable to looked puzzled at the term. Find an old-fashioned barbershop, they should know. You can negotiate how short you want it. Too short and it's a buzzcut. What you want is  just short enough that no part is necessary.

Make sure to specify that you want to gel the front up, and that the temples aren't covered. Other than that there isn't much to say. If you aren't getting good results from one stylist, try another!

It may be that your hairline doesn't allow for you to have a Daniel Craig cut too.  My hair is better suited to a brosnan cut due to my widow's peak.  However, if your widows peak isn't as pronounced then you should be okay.

When you get your hair cut, dont forget to brush it forward and down at the sides.  Brush it forward at the top and with a little gel rubbed into your fiingers, grab the front part and pull it up and away from your forehead.  See how that does.

But in terms of cuts, get a number 3 or 4 round the back and sides and ask your barber to cut your hair to about an inch and a half to 2 inches on top, making sure that the fringe is thinned out.

And take a picture in for him/her to work from.

Here's a link to another thread asking the same question. There's a couple of responses that could help you also.

Wow Thanks for all your help guys. I know it sounds conceited. I really dont want to "be" bond, but Craig and I have a similar shape and that haircut looks just great on him.

What I have so far is this:

1.5 inch hand trim on top (thin out fringe?)
#4 around the back and sides. (I heard 3 is too short)

-What does it mean to "thin out fringe?"
-I have also heard that a high fade is the type of cut that Craig has. Is this true?

Eh, he essentially has the modern version of the "Princeton," (sometimes called the "Ivy League") which is to say the hair is cut very short all around, with a little length toward the front.  Everything is brushed slightly forward, except the very front, which is pushed up.  Here's a page with a photo and description, though unfortunately the model is that dumbass Tom Arnold:  http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip21042.htm.

Craig's is more of the modern "bed head" version, in that hair sticks up here and there to give it a casual, just woke up quality.  Many years ago, parents would have scolded their sons for not combing their hair if they looked like that, but today it's considered "sexy."  The problem with these types of haircuts is two-fold:  First, the barber/stylist must know what they're doing, as the short length is unforgiving of errors, and, second, unless your hair grows incredibly slow, you have to get it trimmed more often.

This style looks great on men who, like Craig and Connery, have broader foreheads.  If you have a long face or narrow forehead, you'll probably want more hair length on the sides to give your face proportion.

Hello.

the easiest way would be to print out some (high-res) pictures from the internet which you can show your barbour.

In principle it is a classical short-hair-cut.
On the top the hair should be about 2 - 3 cm whereas the length has to get shorter continously on the sides.

If i can get hold of a camera i will post a picture of my hair later.

edit: Here we go

(Sorry if my english is a bit halting. I do my best ajb007/wink )

I presumed it was a short back & sides (Number 2 razor) with the top cut to around 1.5cm to 2cm in length, and then the top and sides blended in (thanks to a stylish barber). You then let it grow for around 3-4 weeks, and there you have it.
I love the look, I have dark blonde hair, and I'm going to have the look for my wedding (19th August).

This may sound snooty, but if you go to a hair stylist that cuts your hair by clipper numbers you need to find a different stylist.  There is so much more to getting any haircut let alone Daniel Craig's.

Find a stylist that can cut from pictures, A good stylist will adapt the cut to suit the weight of your hair, curl, hairline, and the shape of your face.  For Daniel Craig's 007 cut, your stylist should cut texture into your hair and advise you on what product works best to create that "just out of bed" tussle.  I use Aveda control paste, I'm not sure if it is available in the UK, but it is the best.  It is controllable and won't leave you crunchy or greasy.

To make the 007 cut really stand out talk to your stylist about highlights.  DC's hair is naturally a light brown, not blond.  In CR his hair was highly highlighted.  It doesn't have to be super blond, just subtle highlights will bring out the texture and create the look you are going for.
