La Perla Bathing Suit

I know this topic has been covered here, however, for some reason the search function is either not working at this current time, or what I am inputting is not coming up. Either way, I have a few questions.

From what I can see here: http://www.jamesbondlifestyle.com/index_clothing.php?m=cl&g=cl012

There are several locations. However, I called recently the one that seems to have what is left of this piece of swimming apperral, but the price seems high. On this website is shows at $89, but the place I called (Le Bra Lingerie in California), is for $129 not including shipping.

I am wondering where some of you, that have purchased this, have gotten it from and for what price. I am wondering if this is to much for a pair of swim trunks.

Thank you in advance.

I got mine back in January. I went into La Perla's web-site and got the e-mail addresses for every store in the States, and even one in Dubai (although I never heard from them), and e-mailed them asking about the swimsuit. There were about 4 stores that responded to my e-mails and I ended up getting mine from the Black New York store (black@laperlafashions.com)for $87 plus shipping of $15. The girls at the store were extremely helpful and polite. This link will give you the e-mails, and phone numbers, of stores in the States plus other countries in Europe and such:

From the main page go into "Company" and then "Boutiques" and the stores in various countries will come up. There's quite a few stores, so hopefully one of them will still have the swimsuit. Good luck!

I am going to go ahead and get in contact with them. I think it may be a little bit late to get it from these people.

Who else did you hear from?

If I can remeber correctly, Madison New York was another one. Miami responded, but because they are mentioned on the James Bond Lifestyle web-site, were receiving alot of queries at the time and never did get back to me after that. There might have been one more, and I think it was the Boston store. Try them all though. It will increase your chances of reaching a store that might still have it. If none of the stores still have the swimsuit, the place you mentioned that was charging $129 for it would be your next best bet. I've seen these suits occasionally go on Ebay for around $200 US, so $129 isn't that bad of a price.

What sizes did you guys purchase it? I am a size 33 in waist, and I have been told that XL would be my size.
  • DEVONKNIGHTDEVONKNIGHT CanadaPosts: 100MI6 Agent
I got an XL and I'm a size 36. Haven't worn them as I prefer to just display them in my collection, plus I've read that they fit a bit snug and don't leave much to the imagination.

But did you get the size for display purposes or did you get it because it corresponded with your waist size? I have heard that XXL is for sizes 36.

In the US, L is traditionally around a 34-36 inch waist, XL is 36-38. You can size yourself up or down accordingly. Hope this helps.

I was told by the girl I was dealing with that XL was the right size for someone having a size 36 waist.

I think, that info is not correct.
If you have a 36 waist, I'd go for XXL, the XL, I would normally go for, is very small with Grigioperla.

I think this is correct. XL is for 33-34 and XXL is for 34-36

I've got a break in the bathing suit. I will let you guys know later about it. Just curious, how many of you are still interested in purchasing this bathing suit?

    Wouldn't mind having a spare.

You can put me down for one...

The price is $87 US plus, if you don't live near the store, 15$ shipping.

I was able to acquire two La Perla bathing suits from a La Perla Outlet store in New York. The first one I purchased I got it for $87 plus the shipping and the tax which came out to 105, give or take. The 2nd one I got a great deal one, the manager gave me a July 4th deal and it came out to $77 with shipping and everything. I have two XL, which I plan to use one for going to the beach(if I dare), and the other as a collectors item.

I will be posting pictures in a few

Glad you found what you were looking for. Was the store you got it from in New York the Black one?
  • Mikep99Mikep99 Posts: 104MI6 Agent
I bought it from Woodbury. I couldn't believe the amount I paid for the 2nd time around.
  • DEVONKNIGHTDEVONKNIGHT CanadaPosts: 100MI6 Agent
You got a great deal there! Just be careful with the one you're going to wear as I remember reading when I got mine that you can't get any suntan lotion on it or go into chlorinated water with it as it will discolor. Basically, the suit is pretty much for show and not really a practical bathing suit for normal use.

Oh wow. I didn't know that. Thank you

It's actually right on the tags that are on the suit.

The brand of that one is still undetermined, I believe. The only thing fairly close that I've seen resembling it has been on Ebay for about $37 US. It's not an exact match to the original, but probably the next best thing. Here is a link to it on Ebay:
