Topic: what happened to that vest?
Have you guys noticed how at the end of CR Bond is wearing a vest along with his suit and then at the start of QOS it suddenly disappears.

It dissapeared into the 2006-2008 time gap and was never heard of again until it was recently spotted in a small bar just off the coast of Cuba...:s

I had noticed the missing waistcoat. How long was White shot, bleeding and in that Aston's boot?
My theory is that once Bond threw White in the trunk, that before he got into his DBS he took the vest off and just threw it in the car, or threw it in with Mr. White.
Somebody else on this board said it best when he stated that they weren't even trying.
Sorry, I forgot who...
Have to agree Mr White lazy movie making, they must of known CR and QOS would be watched back to back as one movie,I'm getting the feeling the old motto of "Everthing Or Nothing" has now become "Thats Good Enough!"
Apparently when Bond dumped his vest he also took the time to change watches from his blue Seamaster to the 42mm Planet Ocean. Perhaps he stopped at a fine Swiss watch shop en route to deliver Mr. White to M.
Does this mean, that QOS was a parallel reality version of Bond, and the next film will continue the actual storyline from CR?
Sorry, sorry, sorry, couldn't resist!
It was dopey to see the film a few moments after the previous one anyway. It could just as well be a few days later, after Bond has softened White up and must now get him to M. Daniel Craig obvious aged, too, so the time issue is problematic.
Yes, these are annoying little things but i still loved the PTS of Quantum of Solace. They didn't spoil the thing for me.
However, these sorts of mistakes ought to be avoided!! They can throw a lot of money at a film, but not keep continuity. As MGW said himself, QOS begins minutes after CR - Bond changed watches in that time?
I don't think so!
It doesn't spoil QOS for me either. I think it's a great movie.
But simple things like this can be easily avoided. It annoys me that they er not even trying.
What they need is a continuity manager to keep an eye on these things.
If anybody from EON is reading this: I have a degree in theatre science and I would love to apply for this job.
Bond also removed the silencer from his HK!
And had a haircut....
and lost about 10 pounds....
Maybe he went to a gym on the way to venice......
Having a ton of one night stands, James Bond is an expert quick change artist.
Lazy? Solid choices in both films: suit + vest in CR worked perfectly, great final image for Bond; no vest in QOS = equally solid choice as Bond goes from car chase to foot chase with only time for a quick Scotch in between. If you need something to help the continuity along, easy enough for Bond to have shed the vest while stuffing White into the trunk...
And also during the CR QOS time-gap Bonds three button suit becomes a two button suit.
Its a 3 button suit rollled to the 2nd button. All are still there.
could have used vest to stop white bleeding to death so mi6 could interrogate him.
thats my version and im sticking to it.
i would just say, regarding the waistcoat, since the movie starts an hour after the last movie ended bond probably took the time to remove the waistcoat, it tends to be hot in italy, and stashed it behind the drivers seat.
How can he do that if he is in 2 seater car.
theres always room behind the seat, in all two seaters.
I think that when Bond had introduced himself, he had to take his jacket off before giving Mr. White a bit of a kicking, then he took off his waistcoat as this activity was causing him to perspire(but not weep blood), then after laying both behind the driver's seat, he put the jacket back on before driving off with White in the boot. This still doesn't explain how or why Bond changed watches, lost weight, aged, removed the silencer from his HK, or magically turned his P99 into a PPK?
if anyone remembers the bathroom fight scene in CR Bond is using a ppk i believe like with most police that the ppk became his off duty weapon because I dont believe that the capture of Mr.White was a mi6 sanctioned mission i believe Bond went on a private vandetta. reguarding the vest and watch etc. the vest could easily have been taken off because we dont actually know what happens between Bond shooting him and the car chase in quantum, however if its even somewhat like the game he could have taken it off in the journey from white back to the aston martin. The watch, i just rewatched cr and i noticed you really dont see the watch at the end of the movie so it could be possible that he switched between venice and mr. whites, i mean he changed clothes right?, the weight could be from the depression bond could just not be eating since vesper just died i mean he didnt sleep im sure that didnt help any so this is my view on these topics i believe them somewhat valid but you never really know anybody do you?
