How about Richard Armitage? He's off from the hobbit, He's english, a good actor and is very suave. He's 42, I think.

Not much chance since Spooks. He looks more like a villain though. Although, you could argue the literary Bond fits that bill too.

as a nazi paedophile maybe. This is what I hate about the casting of craig, now as long as the actor is british and unatractive he could be Bond. How about someone of eastenders next. Dear god.

I guess this just proves that we all have different ideas as to who or what would make a good Bond, but I hardly think Fassbender's in the same class as an Eastenders actor.

Trouble is, there's no-one out there who's a shoe-in as Bond in the same way that there was for, say, Brosnan.

Hate to claim ignorance, but I did not even know who he was (have not seen any of his films). Since your mention I checked him out on the internet and I would agree, he's the right age, has the right dark looks and can certainly do the fight scenes.

I remember about a year ago there was this period where everyone seem to suggest Henry Cavill for the next Bond... Not sure what to think of him myself though... I think Craig is probably going to do atleast two more movies...

Intresting. What makes you say that? To me he always seems quite dedicated. And in interviews he often mentions that he is pretty thankfull for the part and is willing to continue as long as the producers still want him. Barbara and Michael always seem quite happy with him as well. Of course, the producers were also happy with the previous Bonds. But I don't really have the feeling that Craig would want to voluntarily bow out. Besides the 25th Bond movie is also a pretty special achievement to just bow out on.

he is also quite charismatic, especially with the ladies. I think he also has the perfect career, in that he isn't too famous an actor.

There was a time when Owen seemed possible 007 material to me. That moment has sadly passed :D
Nowadays he looks a bit goofy, almost doofus-like to me. However, he was great in the BMW 'The Hire' commercials.

I've heard a lot of rumors about Robert Pattinson being interested in the role (Most dating back quite amount of years) A lot of you may scoff at that but would he be a particularly bad choice? Obviously a bit young but if Craig stays on for the next 4 years could Pattinson do it after Craig? Pattinson would be 30 then which may be to young but Lazenby was 30 for OHMSS and Connery was 32 for Dr. No.

He could be a real candidate.

Could be that the Twilight clips I have seen have me a bit jaded, but Pattinson seems all wrong to me. Something not quite masculine enough about him. I could be surprised, but that's my initial reaction.

From The New York Times May 23, 2032

.....Looking back on all the actors that played the famous thrill seeking secret agent one finds that the role was mostly played with style & panache (with of course the notable exceptions of Sean "slap her" Connery & Timothy "Hamlet" Dalton), though none before have ever reached the pinnacle of Bondian and thespian success that Justin Bieber has in only two movies as the superspy! "I knew I could do it." said Beiber at today's opening of his latest 007 adventure, "Kill Another Week."

I really like Robert Pattinson these days (I get the impression he wants to be serious with Water for Elephants, Queen of the Desert, etc. and is pretty over Twilight since around the 2nd film). That said, I don't think he fits Bond. He has a reserved polish to him that doesn't fit the character well and I think the Twilight fame would kill his chances anyways.

Sure wish Pattinson had been cast as the male lead in Anna Karenina though. He would have been way better than the guy who dyed his hair blond for it and looked like an unappealing grump for the whole film. No one believed Keira Knightley found that guy irresistible.

Unless Daniel Craig gets hit by a truck in the next couple of years, these actors, collectively, stand a zero chance of being the next Bond. If you figure Bond 24 and 25 come out in 2015 and 2018 the next Bond will be introduced in 2021, at the earliest. He'll probably be about 32-36, which means he's currently in his mid-twenties. Maybe he's done plays, some commercials and a small role or two in indie productions. He's not anybody you've ever heard of.

Wasn't Daniel Craig in some rather big productions 8 years prior to Bond? He didn't have massive roles or anything but he was still working in some big films (Elizabeth with Cate Blanchett comes to mind)

I do generally agree with you though. The next Bond could pretty much be anyone it could even be someone who's just started acting in the 2012 year (It was 8 years between Connery's start and his first) it could be a model with minimal acting ability like Lazenby or it could be someone already established like Moore, Dalton, Brosnan and Craig were.

I'm personally hoping for an unknown Actor to take over the role, launch a career that way.

    Clive is too old now....

The next bond will depend on when D. Craig is no longer doing the role. He looked a lot older in Skyfall (but still super fit) while some of the other actors like Pierce Brosnan aged a whole heck of a lot better.

As for my personal view, the movie bond is best expressed by a young Connery or Pierce Brosnan. If D. Craig was "hit by a bus" I would say Fassbender would be the ideal bond (Not sure who said he looks like a Nazi Pedophile, most girls i know love him.) and if its say, 2018 when we are looking at the next bond I will throw out Joel Edgerton as a option.

I agree, but hope that the lure of lucre does not mean we get into AVTAK territory. I think he said somewhere that he was happy to be Bond 'as long as my knees hold up' I think and hope that he has too much integrity as an actor to become another embarrassingly aged Bond. Pierce had at most one film left in him, and I think the same of Daniel.

I agree. He's no fool, and I feel he would not want to outstay his welcome, or look too old to be convincing. I think he has a good deal of integrity about his craft. One more and out would suit me fine.
