Harrison Ford played a villain of sorts against Daniel Craig in Cowboys & Aliens.

    Blofeld from OHMSS
    Dr Kananga

Brad Whittaker (if you even count him as the main villain - I don't)

    That's it!

So time for an american bond villain I think.
I want Harrison Ford. He usually plays the good guy. (Has he even ever played a villain?) He's my favourite actor, and given his age, I think he'd make a great head of quantum (That's if they don't make the head of quantum a woman which I also think would be a good idea).

I was thinking about that. But he kind of turns good throughout the film... still the closest I've seen him to playing a villain though.

Count me in for Sir Anthony Hopkins as well. Originally he was suppost to play Alec Trevelyan in Goldeneye, when the earlier script had Trevelyan written as a more of a mentor to Bond than a partner.

I've never heard that before. Most fascinating! I wonder if Sir Anthony was considered for any other Bond films before or since? Would be interesting to find out. I remember a word-of-mouth rumour that linked Sir Anthony to a possible Bond film called Icebreaker where Bond went up afgainst the IRA in part in 1999. No idea where that particular rumour actually came from, but the IRA reference doesn't sound all that credible.

How about Idris Elba as the new Buonaparte Ignace Gallia - the new Mr Big as Fleming intended in a new version of Live and Let Die the novel a la Casino Royale in 2006. I'm all for it - but I expect the article posted in this sub-forum by perdogg a while back is just educated speculation on the part of the author.

I would love to see Guy Pierce as the head of Quantum. He was so good in Count of Monte Cristo. So very despicably Hateable.

Silhouetteman, there is something about him...

Are you referrng to my villainous status or the nature of my posts, AlphaOmegaSin? Pray tell. :s

    Villainous Nature :))

Not only does brucie demand only the finest nosh back stage, plus payment in either bullion or oddly South Korean real estate, but you'd also have to pay the guy who operates mr forsythe from behind the scenes.

    Is any of that true?

Perhaps my villainous nature comes from the fact that I have a black and white sugar skull as an avatar. All very Raoul Silva and Baron Samedi rolled into one there! :)) :o

No, I leave that sort of thing to Old Ian and Ann and their type of sexual perversion, as much as I love ILF of course! :))

Interestingly, it appears the role of henchman has disappeared from the modern Bond movies. It would be great to see a head villain and a reprisal of the types of characters such as Jaws, Oddjob and NikNak. Having said that I would love to the below as Bond Villains

    Steve Buscemi
    Paul Giamatti
    Idris Elba
    Tom Hardy

Yes, it seems to be missing from the last two Bond films with Craig, unless you count Elvis and Patrice? :#

And, don't forget the great influence Tee Hee had on all subsequent Bond film henchmen. :)

Could the main villain be a woman?

Cate Blanchett was a villain in the last Indiana Jones sequel and Selma Hayek would be able to do it I believe
    I must be dreaming

We already had that surprise in TWINE with Elektra King, though. I'd like to see a black villain again - Idris Elba.

Citing a bad villain in a bad movie with a bad Russian accent in a blatantly bad cash grab is not a good way to recommend an actress. I don't disagree with Cate as a villain, but it would have to be better than that rag!

Yes, he was just released within the past few days. So I guess we can expect Blade 4 to be in theaters by the end of May :)) :)) :))

It would be interesting to have an American bad guy again. I cannot think a certain actor off the top of my head, but I am open to suggestions.

Guy Pearce could be an excellent villain since he's unlikely to ever get the Bond role. Basically, he would be awesome in most roles.

I think Marc Warren would play very good villain if EON chose to make the villain someone who wants to get the best of Bond in every way possible. And, an option from left field, Eddie Izzard. He has shown to be able to play parts that are not like his 'on stage' persona (The Riches, Valkery) and is not known to the big general public as a movie star.
