    http://uk.games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/microsoft-reverses-always-internet-used-game-policies-xbox-211818635.html

Microsoft reverses ‘always-on’ internet, used game policies for Xbox One.
In a stunning turnaround, Microsoft on Wednesday announced plans to change some of the controversial features and policies built into their upcoming Xbox One game console.

The news was first reported by Giant Bomb and later confirmed by Xbox head Don Mattrick, who posted a statement on the Xbox One website detailing changes coming to the two biggest thorns in the company’s side: required internet access for the system to work and their somewhat draconian approach to used game sales.

"Since unveiling our plans for Xbox One, my team and I have heard directly from many of you, read your comments and listened to your feedback," he wrote. "I would like to take the opportunity today to thank you for your assistance in helping us to reshape the future of Xbox One. You told us how much you loved the flexibility you have today with games delivered on disc. The ability to lend, share, and resell these games at your discretion is of incredible importance to you. Also important to you is the freedom to play offline, for any length of time, anywhere in the world."

Recently bought the Bose QC20 noise cancelling headphomes.

The noise reduction is simply stunning - even significantly better than the industry standard, the Bose QC 15.

And as the NC 20 is in-ear, there are no vibration noises from the headrest when I am sleeping in the plane.

That has to be the shallowest review I've ever read, obsessing over its physical form instead of its performance. :))

I picked up a PS4 last week as well as a couple of games. As to some random observations:

    - the console is small, unobtrusive and easily fits into just about any entertainment system.

    - despite its size, the machine is a graphical powerhouse and launch games like Call of Duty: Ghosts and Killzone: Shadowfall run at native 1080p and show amazing levels of detail and smooth 60 frames per second gameplay.

    - the DS4 control pad has been redesigned and now includes dramatically improved sticks and triggers as well as a touch pad. In a nice touch, there is also a non-proprietary headphone jack so you can plug in your ear buds or headphones and enjoy quality sound without having to invest in yet another headset.

    - the BluRay drive is incredibly fast, installing 30GB of data in about 5 minutes.

    - currently, all games must be installed to the built in hard drive (500GB is size but only 400GB of usable space). Since most games are clocking in at 20-30GB each, that space will fill up pretty quickly. Fortunately it is easy to replace the hard drive and there are rumblings that a future firmware update will allow the use of external USB hard drives.

    - you can download all the standard apps (Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube, etc) from the online store as well as play BluRay movies. Oddly, audio CDs, MP3s and any form of DLNA is currently not supported though will supposedly show up via another future firware update.

    - the launch games are pretty but somewhat pedestrian in terms of gameplay and there is really nothing new, just your garden variety shooters and racing games. Of interest to James Bond fans, the penultimate level in Call of Duty: Ghosts is practically a recreation of the spacebound commando raid from Moonraker, right down to your character and his squad exiting from a Space Shuttle, rocketing to a nearby space station and taking out the bad guys before taking control of the station and its weapons payload.

So overall a pretty impressive piece of hardware for the $399 asking price.

Wasn't it reported that the PS4 was suffering from horrendous frame rate lag because it runs at 1080p ? It made some games - especially COD:Ghosts - virtually unplayable...or is that just with certain PS4 consoles....Xbox One has also has issues...its always best to give the 'next gen' consoles a wide berth for 12 months and let them iron-out the bugs first...
