We have Craig, can we have Weisz too, PLEASE?

Rachel Weisz is an unexplored asset to the Bond movies to date.
Her inclusion would make for a fantastic combo with her hubby IMO.

Bond 24 NEEDS her! -{

Opinions?

Plus: 2015? Really? 8-)
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

Does bond 24 'need' RW because she's a good actress or because she's married to DC?

Mmm, I don't think we need Weiss on Bond 24.

They've just starred in a Broadway play together (not to mention Dream House, where they met)...and I can't help but feel it will be a bit OTT if she appears in Bond.

Can't we see Bond get together with some hot Bond Girl (that isn't his wife in real life :# )
She's worth whatever chaos she brings to the table and you know it. ~ Mark Anthony

I wouldn't mind that at all.

And I would assume they'd have a good on screen chemistry.

Showing Bond in love is important. Without human attachment he becomes a killing machine.

Unless like many married couples, they've had a big row. :))

She'd be good as an elusive WW type, esp as she was horrid in that Neil La Bute film.

She'd make a great villain. I always thought a cool plot point would be Weisz as a extremely dangerous and powerful criminal mastermind (maybe the head of Quantum) who has a psychotic obsession with Bond (remember how Quantum thought they could recruit Bond). MI6 learns of this and dangles Bond as bait. Maybe MI6 stages a fake resignation / firing of Bond from MI6 in disgrace and Bond puts himself out there for some work in the "private sector".

No, she's not a particularly good actress. One of those types who need instant validation from the director as soon as he/she calls "cut" which can be increasingly irritating for all on set.

How would that affect a finished performance for an audience?

    Yeah.
Plus, I think she IS a particularly good actress. Ever see The Constant Gardner?

IMO, she is an excellent actress with broad range. She can do serious drama, comedy and even action. Her dark, unconventional beauty is also an asset, especially for a Bond film. We're not talking about just another model/actress for Bond to rescue/bed.

Weisz is a terrific actress. I'm against putting her in a Bond film because of the unnecessary attention it would call to their relationship, as well as opening the whole thing up to criticisms of stunt casting or nepotism or what have you. It would all ultimately distract from the end product.

From my perspective, this idea of having RW in bond 24 is a bit too fanboy for me.

Acting skills aside for a second, I think most people for the idea are getting a bit carried away. If RW wasn't married or associated with DC would these people still be claiming what a great idea it is? I doubt it.

It'd be like saying Des' son should have proceeded him in the role of Q, or Sean Connery should have done the cameo as DC Bond's dad in SF. These are cute little ideas but ultimately when we finally come back down to earth we realise that it's not actually such a great idea after all.

I've got nothing against RW, but like Halfhitman Halfmonk says, the connection off screen would be too much of a distraction from the actual film. I can imagine most reviews would be centred on how or if RW and DC work well together, instead of concentrating on the bigger picture.

Again, cute idea but too fanboy to be realistic.

Before I even knew who this bloke Craig was, I was a RW fan from Chain Reaction, The Mummy & The Mummy Returns. Especially The Mummy Returns, where I immediately spotted a perfect Bond girl.
Some time after I saw CR I found out Craig was married to her and I was like NO WAY!!!
So it's more a thing about RW and convenience, then a fanboy wanna see the couple together thing.

I dunno. That might lead to interesting on-screen tension. Or divorce. Or both. :))

Didn't she used to date Sam Mendes? I could foresee some potential conflicts on set! :))
