Skyfall IMAX copy

This may be a tough one, but has anyone any idea where to get an IMAX copy of "Skyfall"? I saw it in IMAX originally in the cinema, I remember that the screen was way higher and thanks to that we could identify a few missing items (like the trousers from the workout scene, I bet that the logo would be visible when he's doing pull ups in the IMAX version). It wasn't released, so I guess either genius Chinese hackers already have it or someone who has a friend working in a cinema can obtain a copy...

Anyway, I know the chances are small, but if anybody has any idea I would appreciate that!

Given we weren't even allowed to post copyrighted photos from the films on these boards a couple years ago, I doubt you'll get much traction soliciting a pirated version of the film in here. :))

There's no legitimate way to get a copy of the film in the IMAX aspect ratio, unfortunately.

Well, I suppose it would not be entirely legitimate :D But I had to ask, I would not write PM's to every member separately if anyone knows anything about it.

So let's put it this way: if anyone has any info, just write me a message. I have Skyfall on BluRay, bought using my own money (duh!) so I guess EON will understand this would not be exactly piracy as we know it.

No, but MrZareba is simply asking if anyone knows if such a copy is out there anyway. And in a way I'm surprised such a version isn't available legally, after all, some might have quite deep old Standard TVs still, they could watch it on one of them.

Wrong. Just because you have one copy does not give you the right to another.

Being a law student gives me the right of saying that you're right ;D

Napoleon is right, I was wondering if such a copy is out there anyway. I'm kind of surprised, because The Dark Knight is available as an IMAX edition (and it's not intended to be used on an ol' TV!). I guess it wont be released anyway, after 5 years there is still no Quantum of Solace special edition with deleted scenes included, so I doubt they will release a special edition of Skyfall (even if they will - probably it will not include the IMAX copy in it).

I can't see them releasing Skyfall on IMAX because I don't think there is a big enough market for it.

Correction - The Dark Knight was not entirely shot in IMAX, only certain scenes were "expanded". But anyway - these scenes are implemented in the iTunes HD digital download for example.

As for the market - you're probably right, because even on this board I doubt that everyone has a legal copy of the movie either on disc or digital, but damn it - I would love to have it! The only thing I remember is the Mercedes-Benz symbol on the back of the S-class in a scene in Shanghai which was not visible in the standard cinema version (crap).

Missing out on the Mercedes badge might end up as big an argument as missing out
On the gun barrel at the start. :))

The Dark Knight Rises has some fantastic parts in imaxx and the screen ratio changes
    on the bluray.
What makes you think this is my first time?

What I meant is that I could for example memorize the Puma logo on the track pants instead of a stupid badge in the back of a car :(
