An interview that I read with Sam Mendes prior to the release of SPECTRE stated that he was hoping the Aston Martin DB10 would become the iconic Bond car for the current generation of fans, just like the DB5 was to people when the Bond films were first released in the 1960s. However, I find it a bit funny that in the film, the DB10 ends up in a river and the DB5 makes a surprise appearance at the end, being driven into the metaphorical sunset by Bond, somewhat going against Mendes' wish.

There's no way the DB10 could end up an iconic Bond car with the way it was used in the film. The Esprit, Aston Martin V8 and BMW 750iL are all far more special. The DB10 hardly did anything. It would have to make another appearance to be iconic. It seems more like Mendes wants to keep the DB5 as being the most iconic Bond car for every generation.

Also, does he threaten Q's cats? Or what's Q's reason to help him after he refused at first? ?:)
Bond says "then I'd advise you trust me for the sake of the cats".

    No - Bond doesn't threaten his cats - it's a gag !

Q helps Bond as he trusts him...or certainly backs his hunch.

Ok my choice of words was incorrect there. I knew he did not actually threaten his cats. :))
It's just that on second view, I didn't quite understand the reason for Q's change of mind. But I think he simply respects and trusts Bond, at least now, after Skyfall. He probably wanted to help him from the beginning and was just teasing him with a reference to the risks he was taking.

There is an interesting piece of music that plays when the helicopter does a loop. It seems to me to be a nod to the slide whistle from TMWTGG when the AMC does the loop.

The other thing is the train fight. Great as it is how come the train suddenly appears deserted once it all kicks off and they are free to completely destroy the train without any comeback. Even afterwards no-one comes up to them and says wtf was that all about..they just go off for a shag. No wonder they dumped them off in the middle of the desert when they got the chance :)) .

Good of you to bring this train fight up: IMHO it was still, if not a particularly realistic fight scene, never the less one of the rarer ones: it really felt as if Bond was going to kick the bucket in the end. It gave an all too real flash back to me; it had that same desperate feeling of the last blink of an eye that you get when your punch-drunk in the ring or your oppo has gotten that choke down right on you and you know there is nothing in your power you can do. You are at his mercy.
It's a funny thing, I took a glance at my watch to see how far the movie had gone to make sure that: "naah they can't kill Bond now, can they?"
As suspenseful and intense moment as can be had in a movie!

It's a great piece of fisticuffs alright, but I never really felt that Bond had been overpowered and helpless. It moved very fast, and did nor really slow down to show us that Bond was spent ( I'm thinking Goldfinger/ Oddjob here or Bond in OHMSS

I disagree that Bond is never overpowered. When Madeleine shoots Hinx, and Hinx lets go of Bond, Bond collapses to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Without Madeleine's intervention, Bond would have been thrown off the train.

I agree, Bond looks to be almost outclassed by Hinx, who obviously is much
bigger and muscular, and indeed looks to be beating the crap out of Bond. Infact
Bond seems to be trying to get a bit of breathing room by heading for the kitchen.
So in my opinion it's a fantastic fight, Bond is shown as being far from a superman,
but is fighting for his life. As Jellyfish points out, Bond collapses to the floor during
the fight, as it's taken everthing he's got.

I need to watch it again I think.I certainly liked it but would have loved just a bit more fear/resignation, one more close up would have done it. As it stands it's defo one of the series highlights in terms of fisticuffs. Craig is really very good at this stuff, up there with Lazenby and Big Tam in my view.

I agree that for the fights, Craig has had some spectacularly good ones ! {[]
I know we all interpretate what we see,but I did think that Craig looked to be
Trying to get away from Hinx, to come up with some plan to deal with him.
Although like many I did expect him to pop up near the end of the film for
    One last big fight. :)

At the Hofler Klinik Bond asks Q what hotel he's staying at. Q replies, "The Pevsner." A nice nod to the late Tom Pevsner, both Associate Producer from FOR YOUR EYES ONLY to LICENCE TO KILL & Executive Producer on GOLDENEYE.

Exactly. Hinx gives him that one last shove, charging at him like a bull, and Bond is wobbly from then on - his ears are ringing, he throws a limp punch and misses, and he's at Hinx's mercy until Swann gets off a shot. Bond snaps back after Hinx has his hands on Swann's throat. It's a spectacular fight scene.

Although The_Commander does make a good point, if a fight broke out
I'd be hiding in the toilet, or rather protecting any women who might be
    in the toilet ! :))

Being a woman, if a fight broke out and some random guy wanted to "protect" me in the toilet - I guess I'd just scream and run from the toilet haha.

I guess I'd just call some train personnel in real life. Not on you. On the fight I mean. And stand back from them. I don't think I'd really hide somewhere. I guess they don't care about me when they're busy fighting with each other. So I wouldn't try to intervene myself. I'm small and skinny, so I don't stand a chance against two tall man, one of them being extra huge. I guess I'd get help that could stand a chance. ^^ I'd probably ask some tall man for help.

I'd throw myself to the floor if they had guns and if there were shots fired and wait for those people to be gone, then run into the other direction of the train and get said help fast.

edit: sorry, I am just so tired, English grammar is leaving me...

Greene is missing in the MI6 building but is present on Q's computer when he is analyzing the ring and then later when showing 007 what he found from the analysis.

We see Greene on the laptop screen, but that's it.

Kinda sums up what they want us to think of QoS now, really.
