Did Franz know James was going to be a spy?

  I think Blofeld said something about their paths crossing ?
  So in my mind, there was no big plan to hurt Bond, but when
  Bond got involved with a spectre plot. Blofeld made sure, to
  hurt Bond in some way.

  It's actually more plausible for Blofeld to have kept tabs on Bond throughout his career than it was for Silva to have orchestrated all of his complex machinations -- including planning in advance to escape from a cell in an alternate headquarters on the very day that M would be having to defend herself against a parliamentary committee -- since we've seen again and again how computer surveillance permeates Bond's world, right down to the tracker inserted into his arm during Casino Royale. What's unfortunate is both the cheesy idea that Blofeld and he knew each other before and that there wasn't more actual dialogue between them to dramatize just what it means for Blofeld to hate Bond so much and for Bond to realize that he's been a puppet to a psycho all those years. That's poor writing.

  I guess, Blofeld was behind the pain that 007 felt (the people he respected got killed) when he interfered with SPECTRE's matters ..... Even in OHMSS, Blofeld killed Tracey when 007 interfered with his matters
