SPECTRE opening/gumbarrel Bond theme

Has anyone by any chance the full theme that is played at the end of Skyfall & the beginning and ending of SPECTRE? I would love to set it as my call hold music but I can't seem to find it ANYWHERE :/ A decent version without the roaring MGM lion is what I'm talking about.

The version of the Bond theme from the end of Skyfall and Spectre is originally from the end of Casino Royale. It's on the Casino Royale soundtrack called "The Name's Bond…James Bond". The gunbarrel music from Spectre, I believe, was posted on the Sony Facebook page around the time the film was released, but I'm not positive about that.

It's not exactly the same - when the Bond cue kicks in it sounds similar but I have too sharp ears for that, it's obviously Newmans recreation. Anyway - the part that I'm interested in is the whole build up before the Bond theme kicks in and I haven't seen it on the official Facebook fanpage. There is just a part of it in one of the videos.

No, the end titles from SF and SP are both exactly the same piece from CR. David Arnold is credited in both films for it. The gunbarrel, however, is a Newman arrangement. I found the version I heard before, but it has the roar (though no gunshot):

If you say so I guess it's true. As for this one - unfortunately I only need the part before the gunbarrel starts... So I guess I have to play in Audacity and try to remove the roar.

I have also always thought that the SkyFall version of 'The Name's Bond...James Bond' sounds slightly different. Is it not a new recording done during the SkyFall sessions, but using Arnold's arrangement from CR?

The gunbarrel theme is definitely David Arnolds in Sf and SP, I think Newmans only rendition of this is "breadcrumbs" on the SF soundtrack.

It could possibly be a new recording in SF, but it's Arnold's arrangement from CR. I think it's the CR recording spliced.

The gunbarrel in SP is inspired by Arnold for sure, but it's not his arrangement.

It actually makes me wonder - why haven't they released the track from the gunbarrel sequence. It's one of the very few pieces in the SPECTRE soundtrack that I genuinly like and they had to keep it to themselves. 8-)

Why haven't they released the gunbarrel music for half of the James Bond scores? That frustrates me. At least with a lot of the expanded scores that came out last decade we got the gunbarrels, but my favourite, OP, hasn't been released.

To it sounds like Arnolds arrangement with some overdubbing, but essentially Arnolds work and as you say he is credited with it.

I didn't say he's credited with the gunbarrel, but some of it does sound like something Arnold could have arranged. Arnold is only credited with the music at the end. I just checked the credits of Spectre and it says "The Name's Bond...James Bond" is arranged by David Arnold and conducted by Nicholas Dodd. That means it's from the CR soundtrack. There could be some new recording spliced in.

My apologies Matt, I thought you were referring to "the names bond..... James bond and not the gunbarrel soundtrack.
    My mistake.

No apologies necessary. Thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding.

I wonder if Newman really doesn't like working with the Bond theme. He doesn't use it much in his soundtracks and really only hints at it. I love hearing different arrangements of the Bond theme, and I wonder what Newman could do with it. It says a lot for David Arnold that his arrangement for CR is still being used in the films. I'm glad he's still part of the series in some way, and it gives hope he'll be back for the next film. I can't imagine Newman would ever come back without Mendes.

I've had the same thought myself, I saw a documentary on David Arnold doing the score for CR, his sheer enthusiasm was remarkable, I can't help feeling particularly SP would have been a better watch with an Arnold soundtrack. I don't think Mendes will be back so hopefully Arnold will be. Have you listened to shaken and stirred by David Arnold? The revamp of ohmss with the propellerheads is awesome.

I love D Arnold as a composer -{ wish he'd done many more Bond scores.
