I have a number for Ian Fleming's literary agent and former Glidrose Board Member (in charge of the Literary Bond Continuation) Peter Janson-Smith and I was wondering if members here would like to suggest a few questions that I could ask him over the phone?

Thanks in advance for any suggested questions! :) -{

    Can he remember some of the rejected titles for the Bond novels ? This will probably be for continuation authors only...

    How do they short list and choose new authors? What criteria do they use?

    Good luck SM - some good research for us Bond fans! -{

    I'm still open to more suggestions for questions to ask the great man.

    Anyone got any good advise for phone interviewing Mr Janson-Smith? :)

    Yeah: good luck.

    He's now a fairly old guy. And he's a "company man".

    Even if he can remember the answers, his loyalty to Glidrose is strong.

    I recall a few years ago, Jeremy Duns tried the same thing when he was working on PFO and was disappointed with Janson-Smith's output due to both the above.

    Yes, I recall that very well. Jeremy is a friend of mine and it was he who gave me the number a good few years ago. I got an answering phone when I tried the number in the past, but I think Jeremy was probably lucky to get him at all (and in the mood to talk!)

    Still, I'm going to give it a go soon; enough time has now passed. I really appreciate all the help and support. :) -{

    Sadly I have to report the death of Ian Fleming's literary agent (and the main thrust behind the Continuation Bond projects of Amis, Gardner and Benson) Peter Janson-Smith aged 93:

    I'd been trying to reach Mr Janson-Smith as recently as a week ago but there was no answer or even answering message. I kind of knew this terrible news would happen given his advanced years. Very sad.

    I contacted John Pearson shortly before Christmas 2015 but he seemed reluctant to talk very much about James Bond as he'd be asked about it a lot over the years and it was all so long ago etc. I didn't get very much out of him sadly but I hope to try again some time to see if I can catch him in a more interested mood.
