I have made a poll about some of the most debated questions about the near future of Bond movies, since it would be interesting to get a clear picture of where AJB members stand on some key questions. I'm all for Craig! Wouldn't mind if he returned two more times and would love to see him finish the Blofeld storyline
I don't really have a set opinion on where to go storywise with the next actor yet, as there's no point to know how Craig's movies are going to end. (Because i'm confident he will return at least one more time)

I think Blofeld should continue in Bond, and I don't like the idea of another hard reboot. Are you against Blofeld or prefer a reboot again?
Considering the mess the real world is in, I'm all for a new type of Bond story, something with genuine dark humour and tension, but a sense of self knowing humour too. Re-establish the old format with a vengeance, and Bond being front and centre of work on behalf of Her Majesty's Government.
I still have not got Spectre on Dvd yet, and that is telling. CR-06 was a tough act to follow, and in trying so hard to reinvent Bond with all the angst and trauma, they have lost the essence of the character. The M-Mansf stuff was good to give Dame Judi a damned good send off - which Skyfall did. But everything else has felt arbitrary.
The other problem is Spectre decided more of the same was good and forced itself to tie up all the othe Craig era films together in a ham-fisted mess, adverting their weaknesses as a collective series. It also promised a lot of spectacle and old school Bond wow factor moments. Then short changed us on all of them. (Hinx underused, Quantum unclarified, that F-ing ring, the ordinary Aston) But more than that, it did something no Bond film has the right to do. - It gave a conclusive ending. That in itself marks its era (The Craig era) as finished territory.
As a fan, I feel right now we are in a post DAF or AVTAK period. The best course of action would be for The House Of Eon to take stock, examine the mood of the audience and start all over again from scratch. New director, new Bond, new writers. Keep the production personnel and supporting cast.
Of course I know that today £ and $ speak more than quality, so Craig will be back if they suffocate him under enough money to be Bond once more. But if he does, he will have become the very thing he had wanted to avoid by not touching Hollywood franchises since Tomb Raider.
It seems a small majority believes Craig will return and nearly as many wants him to do it.
Other than that there isn't much enthusiasm for any of the other statements.
Once Craig is done, we need another hard reboot. New Bond actor, but keeping the same supporting cast. And from that point on, go back to the formula that worked for so long - non personal, "here's your mission" sort of films. Can the Gardner novels be used for inspiration? I feel these would be better to use for films now, as not only were they published at a time more closer to now that the Felming novels' settings, but also because all of the Fleming novels have been used, and anything not included in their movies were used as elements in others (e.g the LALD scenes in FYEO through the coral, Krest in LTK).
In an ideal world, we could have both a film series and a TV series, featuring different casts, the TV series being close adaptations of the novels. We're now at a time where people understand that there are multiple universes of the same character being shown on TV and movies at once (such as Sherlock and the DC characters).
But I too long for mission-centeted Bond movies.
If Craig returns for Bond25 it should mean several Bond contenders are out of the race. Certainly Idris Elba, but probably Michael Fassbender and Tom Hardy too.
Blofeld should return. They hardly did anything with him in the last film -- his role was barely more than a cameo. The silliness about them being foster brothers notwithstanding, SP seemed more of a set up than an actual film that dealt with the issues it raised. Seydoux I'm neither here nor there about. She essentially is a reimagined Tracy but lacks the combination of smarts and charisma that the lovely, lovely Diana Rigg brought to the role. She's more like some pouty girl in a shampoo commercial.
No hard reboot. While Hollywood has decided to just keep remaking and rebooting various franchises, both out of lack of creativity and a presumed safer return on investment, the Bond series can just continue as is. What they could do, of course, is return some of the humor, depending on who the actor is that takes over as Bond.
And, please, whoever the new actor is that takes over the role, let him, like Craig, be rooted in a Bond we understand. I don't care what race he is, but he has to have the right poise and charisma for the role. He shouldn't be some pet actor that some director simply likes to work with.
surprising myself, because I have some huge issues with how they reintroduced Blofeld in the last one
but SPECTRE seemed to have an open ending, as if it were the first of two parts, so lets see them conclude what they've started and maybe they can fix it ... don't forget, Belucci's character is still out there somewhere, that's also a dangling plotthread
just lets not have WaltzBlofeld ever mention the fosterbrother angle, or "I was behind everything" in part two, and maybe they can still make a good story out of it
I would rather they replace the director and writers than change any of the cast ... these are good actors being let down by poor material ... and please no more directors trying to make "art" out of Bondfilms, there must be some director who actually respects the way the old films were made without having to add overstylised action sequences and poetry readings
If a new actor came on, I am torn on a reboot. It worked well this time, but then will this happen everytime there is an actor change? At this point I am against a reboot, but the way the modern audience is they maybe forced too.
Same here, I so want Craig and Waltz back to continue the story of Spectre.
