How often do you turn on a bond film

I have been having a bit of a bond marathon and it got me wondering how often do you watch bond films. When you do, do you go through the entire series in a marathon style or do you pick and choose as you go depending on your mood?

Personally, I feel that I have to go out of my way to watch a Bond movie, to mentally prepare for it, to schedule a time when I know I can finish one uninterrupted, preferably after dark for optimal viewing conditions, etc., so going by that criteria nowadays it's almost never! :)) ...well, on the average it will be 2-3 times a year, one of those being OHMSS during the holidays which I adhere to watching religiously.

However, as much as I admonish my kids for watching a movie being broadcast when we happen to have the disc (for example, the Dark Knight, or the Lord of the Rings) because of the mind-numbing commercials, I will watch segments of Bond movies I catch on tv, like SF, which is repeated several times on some cable channels back to back. Otherwise, knowing myself I wouldn't intentionally watch SF on disc, when there's SP :)) Sometimes, I'll just watch the extras of a Bond movie without watching the actual movie, since the extras can be taken in while doing other stuff.

usually, once every year or two, I will work my way through the entire series in sequence, starting with Dr No, one per week
however lately I have been watching whichever Moore films I have at hand, regardless of sequence, for obvious reason. Just too bad the three remaining Moores are packed away in a moving box I cant find!
sometimes its good to watch them in isolation, to appreciate them for their own inherent qualities instead of how they fit into the evolution of the series.
by coincidence I had watched Raiders of the Lost Ark shortly before my recent viewing of Octopussy. I caught all kinds of connections that might not have occurred to me had I watched them the usual way.

maybe its just a different way of viewing something that's overly familiar. those commercial breaks chop up the film into isolated 10 minute sequences, you might better appreciate the small moments on their own as opposed to how they're supposed to fit into the larger whole.
I think if one really wants to appreciate a work of art, one needs to study it from multiple angles, in varying conditions, to see all its aspects

I watch them pretty often, and it's all down to mood and season, at times I will watch a bond every Sunday for consecutive weeks while I'm cooking the Sunday roast, those are normally Connery or Moore films, Daltons 2 and brozzer are a mood thing, ohmss gets a viewing every Christmas and maybe twice a year at other times. Tb is always watched before my summer holiday and also another couple of times a year and DC's are normally an evening event.

Admittedly not that often these days because I feel bombarded by all the media out there as it is.

There's many films in general out there that I still need to see, many computer games I wanna play, creative hobbies I like to pursue... there's just so damn much.

Also, I have a problem - If I were to watch a bond film, I'd go into a phase where I'd wanna watch the other 23 as well :D Lots of time to commit to...

I hope to have another marathon of all 24 at some point, I'll hopefully manage that before Bond 25 comes out.

I've been meaning to do a run through of the whole series, to see what that's like as an experience. Otherwise, I've mostly bounced around between a couple of the favorites, but not as often as I like. Like Superado, I kind of have to psyche myself up and make space between other things I'm watching. If I can't find the time I'll scene select a couple memorable bits until the next time I think about it. Same as with Jarvio, I feel overwhelmed by keeping up with films and TV shows I've been following. I often forget about the Bond films for long stretches, and then go through a Bond phase, as I am now. I have this habit (with all films that I'm familiar with) where I don't watch a whole movie in a day; I'll "serialize" the movie over a couple of days, broken up in chunks of 30-45 min roughly. With the JB films there's often natural stopping points, like a shift from one setting to another.

    About 3 times a month

Keep in mind, I am a high school student.

When I do feel like watching a Bond, on Mondays I watch QOS because it's short enough to keep me occupied before I do my studying

I usually get my work done on Wednesdays or Thurdays so I watch something like Goldfinger, FRWL or LALD

Friday or Saturday nights are reserved for Daltons, Goldeneye, or OHMSS

I watch alot of Jules Verne and George Orwell adaptations nowadays and i'm also an AP student so it's harder to do these days

I don't think I've ever done a proper marathon, I should get to it but time is a luxury for me these days and I mainly get to watch them on the weekends.
When I do, I try to take to, let's say, OD on Bond films and watch most of my favourite parts (which ends with me going through most of the rest of the movie).
Lately, I'm seeing Bonds which I didn't really think much of and never rewatched much (like Skyfall, for example) and try to see what other people find attractive in these movies (like FYEO) but that doesn't happen very often. Next time I'll probably watch Quantum/DAD.
If I had a rough week, Moore era gallore, with me going for Moonraker or Spy or any other escapist adventure, really (like YOLT/GF). If I'm angrier/crankier than usual I'll watch LTK and so on and so forth.
    a reasonable rate of return

This Thanksgiving morning, I woke up with a hankering for SPECTRE and popped the disc in to view while having my coffee and toast, in lieu of my routine intake of the pre-recorded morning news and of course the usual Thanksgiving fare of the Macy’s parade and the rash of football games. My only other wish is having a home theater that would have total darkening capabilities because my window dressing doesn’t do the job!

Not as often as I would like, I moved recently so all my time has been taken up with that, work and family matters but am hoping to start over the Christmas/ New Year period. I am actually considering imposing a ban on myself from watching any Bond Movie when on actual TV as I have them all on DVD.

I had some opportunity to see some James Bond films on television over the festive holiday. I also saw Spectre for the first time. I think I need to see this film at least one more time before I can decide if it was good or bad.

Don’t worry Joshua you are not alone it took a few viewings to grow on me too fir some it never happened. Now I treat it as quality entertainment but still surpassed by CR and SF unfortunately.

I go through phases but watch them on trips to kill time if I have time on my hands or are at a loose end. They are after all t8meless viewing if you love them as we do :D

    Cheers :007)

I used to watch them a lot; now, I watch more non-Bond films.

I would put a Bond film on once in a Blue Moon now.
