Bond´s watch in Nr. 25

I am not quite sure if i have seen this question somewhere in this forum, but I am curious which watch Omega will slap on DC´s wrist. What are your thoughts? Since it will be the end of the glorious Craig era, so maybe they will come up with something even more special than the Spectre watch. At least it would be a great opportunity. It will be Craigs last one, so the world will be watching- pun intended

My personal favourite is the new 43,5 mm Omega Planet Ocean black dial, the successor of the Skyfall model with the cal. 8500. The Planet Ocean was the first watch he wore in Casino Royale, so seeing him go with the watch he came with would match perfectly. I dont think we will see the Seamaster 300 again. Maybe an Aqua Terra as two watches have become the norm since Skyfall

There's a dedicated thread for the wardrobe predictions you may have for Bond 25.

I think that we should have a blast from the past and use and updated, refined/refreshed version of the old Bond Seamaster Professional (possibly a titanium version).
    The PO's not bad either.
    a reasonable rate of return

I think they should create a special edition Ceramic Seamaster with a wave dial and an extra nato strap. Assuming they kept the "007" branding to a minimum i'd be interested!

I’m really hoping for a Speedy, but Omega doesn’t need Bond’s help to sell those, so it seems unlikely. I can’t inagine being excited by anything else. I liked the Skyfall AT, but the dive watches just serve to remind me that Bond isn’t wearing a Submariner. And Bond SHOULD be wearing a Submariner.

Dear God not the Speedmaster! Omega has really bastardized that watch by all the different variations they offer and even though i own a Speedmaster Professional it's lost it's appeal to the point that i rarely wear it. Personally if it was a Rolex i'd like to see a GMT Master II with a Pepsi bezel or a 16600 Sea Dweller as you don't see many of them around.

This is the case for nearly all of Omega’s watches. But the classic Speedmaster is still a a great watch. You should start wearing it again!

How can we get Omega to make it though? They stopped caring about that watch ages ago and don't tell me the Commander's supposed to be a SE.

If you're talking about the Speedmaster Professional with the hesalite crystal, Seamaster Planet Ocean or the Speedmaster Moonphase then yes they seem to offer a new variant every year. The standard Seamaster doesn't get a lot of variations other than the Commander (Yuck) and the biggest change has been the ceramic bezel, face and new bracelet. The Speedmaster is a good watch and I do wear it a few times month but its usually when i'm just hanging out at home or running errands.

I could just call them during a product development meeting and just tell them "this is watch we are making, here are the accessories the customer will get and (same as the Spectre Seamaster 300) and we are not going offer 7007 of them :))

The Commander wouldn't be so bad if they got rid of the white face and MOST of the "007" stuff but in it's current form i would not wear it even if i got it for free! The NATO strap though is really nice :D

Interestingly enough, duble_oh and I just went to the local Omega Boutique and were told that the RUMOR is the next watch is...wait for it...

    Big Blue. https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watches/seamaster/planet-ocean-600m/big-blue/product/

I'm not sure how I feel about it personally. If it's like Casino Royale and is used for part of the movie I can get on board. Not sure about the whole movie.

Don’t worry. You won’t see that. Boutique staff just make stuff up, they have no idea what will be used, even after filming has finished.

According to the rumor, they are working on a special version of the diver.

Mike, rarely wearing your Speedy is like having a prize egg-laying hen and never making an omelette 8-)

I have always said I would like to see Commander Bond in his RN in uniform and issued with e Seamaster 300 (updated version of the 'vintage' one with broad hands to MOD spec not the SPECTRE version, the military version on a NATO). They did relaunches of the older Railmaster etc with a modern twist why not this one?

    Cheers :007)

Rumor has it in my local Omega Boutique that they are going back to the original blue sea master (I really hope they do not).... I prefer AT with either SM300 or updated Planet Ocean....gut tells me it could be the same as Spectre but with a non-spectre 300, more so the regular 300

Where on earth is everyone getting these Omega rumours from? The movie hasn't (as far as we're aware) even started production, filming, casting or even finalised a director yet. Do you really think "hero" watches have already been picked and that this decision has reached humble boutique employees?

Actually if they are doing a special like the Spectre version, it will have been in development for a while now. If it’s an off the shelf model, chances are it’s been finalised already which model they will be using.

Either way, the circle of knowledge will be small and very very tight. Boutique employees aren’t even employed by Omega. They’re just making stuff up. They do this every time a new film is being made. My other half was head of marketing for Omega UK for a few years, and they only release info to the upper echelons of their own company as and when they have to. Security is very tight. Even tighter when the SP version came out. Not even Omega employees knew about that until the very final moment.

The new 43.5 mm Planet Ocean might be a nice closure for the Craig era, (almost) back to where he started in CR

It looks like Omega is using an overt Bond reference in its marketing leading up to Baselworld in the form of the laser from Goldeneye. Whether it ends up meaning anything remains to be seen.

Speculation I've seen is that their social media tease, which says "they are back", is referring to the return of the wave dial on the 300.

I seriously doubt it, but I'll throw it in the pot for speculation...Tom Ford watches are now available. I doubt Bond would leave Omega, but just thought I'd share.

Can't say I'm a fan of the date at 6 o'clock. They add back one "Bond" element and take away a few others.

Sadly, I can foresee the new Seamaster being slapped on Bond’s wrist - especially if nobody buys it at first.

Not a fan of how pronounced the dial waves are in comparison to the original more subtle waves.

Honestly they really butchered the watch and the dial is AWFUL! Some of the other aesthetic changes are definitely odd like the 6 o'clock date the open case back but I'll have to see one in the metal to make a clear determination. Based on the pictures i see no need to upgrade to this watch when my 2535.80 has a way better design!
